Soon they had finished breakfast. They walked out of the hotel, and Kendril led them in the direction they were supposed to go.

Jewel wondered what exactly they could say to Adrian to persuade him to come back.

After what felt like a very long time of walking, they reached the bridge that Adrian and Jewel had first met by.

Jewel rushed up to the door and banged on it. "Open up! The police are here!" she teased.

Adrian didn't answer the door. -
(I misread that, sorry. XD)
Jewel frowned. "Adrian if you don't open the door we're going to break it down." she warned. -
Adrian opened the door. "What are you doing here?!" he said.

"What do you think?' Jewel asked, rolling her eyes.

Adrian looked at Jewel. "No," he said. "I'm not coming with you guys."

"Running away won't solve all your problems." she said.

"Well it's how I'm solving this one," Adrian said.

"That is dumb and highly ridiculous." Jewel snapped. "Did you even stop to think how that affected everyone else?! You're my guardian, and NOTHING can change that fact. YOU have to be there whether you like it or not."

"I am your Guardian," Adrian said. "My job is not only to watch over you, but to keep you away from danger. Even if that danger is myself." He proceeded to close the door.

Jewel stuck her foot in the doorway. "Oh? What if something happens to me, and you aren't there. You wouldn't be doing your job then, now would you?" she asked. Jewel had grown bitter over the last few days.

"Either way I'm not doing my job," Adrian said. "It's a horse a piece."
