The next day Adrian was silent. It was as if he was putting a barrier between himself and every other person in the room.
-
Jewel barely looked at him and stayed quiet the whole of breakfast.
-
Later in the day everyone but Adrian was in a room together.
"Okay, we've got to do something about Adrian," Kendril said. -
"Like what?" Jewel asked.
-
"Make him realize that he's both hurting himself and us," James said.
"This time he's not even talking," Tessa commented.
"Do you understand what Adrian's doing right now?" Kendril asked Jewel. -
"Yeah, cutting himself off from everyone because of what happened." she replied.
-
"Last time it was because he thought himself unforgivable," Kendril said. "This time it may be a little of that, but it's mostly he thinks he's dangerous. Adrian fears that if he's connected to us it hurts us more that he does something."
-
"Oh." was all that Jewel said.
-
"He still loves you," Henry told Jewel. "Every time he looks at you his eyes fill with love. Next time he looks at you look at his eyes. He didn't want to break up with you, but he thought it was for the best."
Henry did like Jewel. He was a little tempted to ask her out, but he knew she was in love with Adrian. He didn't want to take advantage of her.
"He's also coming from the standpoint that he's your Guardian," Tessa said. "He's supposed to keep danger away from you. So, if he thinks he's dangerous, he thinks he needs to stay away from you." -
Jewel sighed. "I guess so. I really hope he's okay." she mumbled.
(*le cry* Dis was suppose to be a very angsty paragraph >:'() -
(XDD)
"He will be," Kendril said. "As long as he doesn't - Wait."
"James, go see if Adrian's still here," Henry said. -
"As long as he doesn't what?" Jewel asked, a little concerned.
-
James appeared again. "He's gone!"
-
"Gone?! Gone where?!" Yelled Jewel.
-
"Just gone!" James said. He gave Kendril a note that Adrian had left.
