Jewel sat by Adrian's side the whole night. -
It was about noon when Adrian awoke. He stared at the ceiling and whispered the only thing that was important to him at that moment.
"Jewel." -
Jewel whipped her head towards Adrian. "O-Oh. Yeah what is it?" she stammered.

Adrian sat up. He was light-headed, but he just blinked away the splotches that clouded his vision. "Jewel," he said quietly. Tears were beginning to well up in his eyes. "Jewel, I'm sorry. I failed you. I failed you. I'm so sorry."

Jewel said nothin but only stared at him. She finally said, "You didn't fail me. Lucifer just possessed you." she said.

"I let him touch you...hurt you," he said. "I tried to stop him, I tried to fight back, I did everything I could but it wasn't enough. I'm too weak."

Jewel hugged him. "No you aren't. You were being tortured by him all day. I can imagine you were exhausted after that." she said.

"I should have protected you," he said. "I don't know what I'd do if I lost you."

"Its ok Adrian, it wasn't your fault." she said.

Adrian didn't say anything. He knew he wouldn't be able to change her mind.

Jewel sat down on the bed next to him. "So, change of subject?" she asked.

"I guess," Adrian mumbled. He gave her a kiss on the forehead, grateful that she was alive. He didn't dare touch her lips, for they had been hurt by his.

Jewel kissed him on the lips instead, needing to get Lucifers germs off of her. Also because she loved Adrian and wanted to make him feel better.
