"Fortunately I don't get cold as quickly as normal people do," Adrian said. "But yes, when I got out of the river I was cold."

Katherine wrapped her fingers around a hot water bottle and put it into his hands. "Better?" she asked.

"It is," Adrian said. "They keep these hospitals so cold it's a wonder no one freezes to death."

Katherine laughed a little. "Yeah. I think other people might need these hot water bottles more than I do."

"You look fine to me," Adrian said. Just then a nurse came in to see how Katherine was doing.

Katherine waved her away. "I feel fine," she said, going to stand up. "See? I'm - AUGH!"
She slipped on a stray water bottle and landed on the ground with a crash, equipment falling on her. -
"You really should do something about these," Adrian said as he carelessly tossed a bottle to the nurse who caught it with fumbling hands. "They're a hazzard around here." He moved some of the equipment out of the way and helped Katherine up.

"Thanks," Katherine said, dazedly pushing a heart monitor off of herself and getting up. "I guess they didn't expect me to get out of the bed."

"Well I'd consider you well enough to leave," the nurse said. "I'll go get your things."
She soon returned with Katherine's clothes still warm from the dryer and handed them to her. -
Katherine took the armful of clothes and turned to Adrian. "Privacy please?" she asked politely.

"Right, sorry" Adrian said. He stood up and walked out of the room. He decided to wait out in the hallway for her.

Katherine got dressed and walked out of the room, giving Adrian an appreciative nod of thanks before pulling her jacket on.

After Katherine signed out the walked out of the hospital. "I need to talk to you about something," Adrian said seriously. "And you're not going to believe a word of what I say."

"Try me," Katherine prompted, watching him with a mixed expression of curiosity and apprehension.

"Not here, too many people who will mistake me for a madman," Adrian said. "Do you have a place in mind where we could go?"
