"I'm done," Katherine said, entering her hand gently brushing against the railing so she could catch herself if she fell. She jumped down the last few steps and landed in front of him, looking around.
"It does look better. I mean, it still looks like there was a brawl in here, but better," she said, touching a smashed portion of wall. -
"Yeah, not much I can do about that," Adrian said. He led her out the back door then took off his jackets, his wings spreading again. He took Katherine in his arms and took off into the sky.
-
Katherine out a squeak of alarm and wrapped her arms around Adrian in a death grip. She didn't like the sensation of zooming into the air with nothing but a pair of arms between her and a death drop.
-
"Don't worry, I won't drop you," Adrian said. "It's not like I can let you die anyway."
-
"How about a little warning next time?" Katherine said in an unnaturally high voice.
-
"Alright," Adrian said with a nod. "Are you afraid of heights?"
-
"Now I am," Katherine said, shutting her eyes tightly. "Why did we have to travel this way?"
-
"Because I don't know if you have any family that will be coming home to see your broken up house and I'll probably be the top suspect if you go onto the missing persons list," Adrian said.
-
"Probably my nosey old neighbor Loise will find out," Katherine said with a groan. "She's going to be delighted about this."
-
If she saw what happened the police won't believe much," Adrian said. "At the most a ravishingly handsome young man kidnapped an innocent young woman. They'll probably make the demon out to be your friend, or something."
-
Katherine laughed so hard she almost fell off. "'Ravishingly handsome young man', you say?"
-
"It's rather hard to miss it," Adrian said with a shrug.

Adrian swooped down when he was just above his cabin. No human eye could see it. He wasn't sure if Katherine would be able to or not. He landed on the front step and set her down. -
Katherine wobbled for balance for a moment, before looking around. "Where are we?"
-
"My cabin," he said as he opened the door. It had a kitchen that was on the bigger side, a living room, a bathroom, and there were two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. There was also a basement, but Adrian didn't go down there very often at all.
