Thread Topic: Hey Spice,

Katherine began to go numb, the cold icy feeling no longer stabbing her chest so powerfully. Her mind swam and her lids began to droop.
-
Adrian finally got to the girl. He grabbed her by the waist and started swimming back to the surface. When he started swimming he saw what a negative impact her coat was going to be in trying to get her out of the water, so he drew out his knife and cut it off of her.
Now swimming was much easier for Adrian as he quickly broke through the surface of the water. He dragged her onto the land. Lucky for him he had brought an extra jacket on the frigid day, and so he still had something to conceal his wings as he put his long leather jacket on her. -
Katherine dipped into unconsciousness, the last thing she remembered was the face of a rather dashing young man and the ripple of the water.
-
Adrian reached into the pocket of the jacket he had put on her and pulled out his phone. It wasn't a normal phone, but it dialled 9-1-1 just the same as a regular phone did, kind of. After dialing the number in, he explained the situation and where they were. He put the phone in his pocket. An ambulance was on the way.
-
The ambulance arrived, medics swarming around Katherine and a few offering aid to Adrian, trying to wrap him up with blankets.
-
"I'm fine," Adrian said, trying to fight off the blanket-weilding medics. Eventually he satisfied them by only putting on one blanket.
Katherine was put in the back of the ambulance and Adrian was offered a ride in the back also, which he accepted.
They got to the hospital and Adrian followed the people into the room that Katherine would be in. Adrian was asked a few questions like if he knew her, what was her name if he did, did she have any family. He answered these questions with an "I don't know" instead of intruding into her mind. -
A kindly looking nurse patted him on the shoulder. "You're a good young man," she said. "If it weren't for you, she would have died. Her pulse is good and we're confident that she will make a full recovery."
-
Adrian nodded. "Good, thank you," he said. He sat on a chair next to the hospital bed. He wondered when she'd wake up, hoping she'd do it soon.
-
Katherine felt hot. Very, very hot. She shifted and some of the hot water bottles rolled away, relieving some of the weight and heat. She opened her eyes, seeing the pristine walls of the hospital. "Where am I?" she asked in general.
-
"The hospital," Adrian answered her. He picked up some of the fallen bottles and set them on a nearby table. "You nearly drowned."
-
"Hmmm," Katherine said, squinting in remembrance. "You saved me."
-
"I did," Adrian said almost as if it were nothing. "Not the best time of year for a swim, I must say. Too chilly in my opinion."
-
Katherine closed her eyes and let out a light laugh. "Yeah. Maybe summertime though."
She rolled over to look at him. "Do I...do I know you?" -
"You just met me," he said. He sat back down in the chair he had been.in before. He adjusted his long black leather jacket around him so that he would be more comfortable. The hospital had returned it to him after they found out it was his. "I'm Adrian. And you are?"
-
Katherine thought that Adrian seemed vaguely familiar, but couldn't quite put her finger on it. "I'm Katherine, but my friends call me Kat. Well, at least they would, if I really had any," she said with a light bittersweet laugh. "But that's enough about me. Aren't you cold?"
