"I followed orders so I didn't die. I don't care if I nearly killed others. Of course, you don't know what it was like there." Drakestorm had a flicker of pain in his eyes, but quickly replaced it with anger.
-
"You don't care if you nearly killed others?" Treeslash said, his eyes narrowed with anger. "You would rather have it so that others died for your sake? Go ask Bluefly if she ever killed someone. I know the answer she'll give you is different from yours."
-
"She's my mate. I don't have to ask her anything. You don't know what it was like there, and you never will. The way we were raised there... it was horrible... But you don't deserve to know what happened there." His gaze flickered to a deep, long scar on his neck. "You'll never understand me." He walked away, but turned to look back at him, sadness in his eyes.
-
"I do understand what it's like there," Treeslash said. "And let me tell you, I will never obey such orders."
With that, he padded away, heading back towards the nursery.
Bluefly flicked her tail anxiously. "So, how'd it go?" -
"He hates me forever!" He mewed. "Guess that's my life now."
-
"Oh well. You can't win 'em all," Bluefly said, brushing against him and purring softly.
Jadestone came out of the leader's den, a grave expression on her face as she padded over to Bearclaw and whispered something into his ear. -
He wrapped his tail around her. "At least I've got you."
-
"Yep," she said softly.
Treeslash nuzzled his kits, purring. -
"He doesn't know what it was like there..." He trailed off. "Have I told you how I got my scar?" He flicked his tail to the one on his neck.
-
*Joker flashbacks*))
Bluefly shook her head. "No." -
XD You have a point))
"I don't know if he did this when you were there, but... he gave all the kits there a deep neck wound with no treatment from the medicine cat. We could only live if we were strong enough to make it through." He finished. "Dawnstar only wants the strongest warriors." -
Teehee))
Bluefly unknowingly touched her paw to her neck. "I remember." -
"No one else will ever know what that felt like... and, remember? We couldn't eat until it healed successfully... I almost starved..." He murmured. "At least we made it through that."
-
"We aren't the only ones who have suffered," Bluefly said, touching her head to his. "There are different forms of pain."
-
"Yeah, I know..." He whispered. "I''m going to take a nap." He curled up against her.
