Kenna nodded. She never liked having other people listen to her problems. She felt it made it seem like she was expecting them to do something about it when she didn't and they couldn't.

It looks more casual, but I still like the first first one too because he also comes from a (formal?) facility and that just seems like the kind of uniform they'd wear))
Ander pulled it out. It was a strawberry cream cake, a delicacy around these parts. He'd been gifted it by the facility to celebrate his tenth target. He never dreamed that he would share it with her. -

"What kind is it?" Kenna asked, curious. -
First one looks more casual, first first one looks more formal))
"Strawberry with cream. I hope you're not allergic," Ander said, picking up a knife. He used it to cut the cake, although his instincts were pulling him to do otherwise. "Here you are." -
(Just tell me which ones you're going to use, I'm starting to get confused)
"Thanks," Kenna said taking the plate and fork. She took a bite. "It's very good."
"Why are you being so nice to me?" she asked him. He had no reason to. -
Probably 1st first for the time being. Or not. I can't decide :c))
"Why not?" Ander said. "I haven't had company for a long time. I've kind of missed it." -
"I don't think I've ever had company," Kenna said. She finished her cake. She couldn't remember the last time she'd actually bought a cake or made one just because she was in the mood for it

"Never?" Ander said, a hint of surprise in his voice. "What a shame. It's a most pleasant experience."

"I'm sure it is," Kenna said. She set her plate down. No company is what happens when most people are a bit frightened of you.

Ander wasn't quite sure what to make of Kenna. She seemed kind and polite, but that could easily be a façade.
