Janus saw Candace running up and sighed deeply. “Thank god you’re okay. I was worried there for a minute. Gods, what in the world was that? I didn’t know things like that existed!”
-
Ink jumped and squeaked when Candace ran up and quickly turned to look at her, his face pale. "Im not sure, it didn't look like any druid spells i know" he said nervously as he glanced around
-
Zander said "There's a town nearby, where an oracle lives. Maybe she can tell us."
-
Candace turned to hybrid once she arrived and raised an eyebrow. "Relax Janus. You do realize I have no money or anything to my name I can give in return for your favour." Candace replied, not convinced that this stranger would actually care for her wellbeing. She turned to the cute boy around her age who seemed surprised by her sudden appearance. To her wolf's frustration, this made the human part of her uncomfortable and nervous. "Alright, Let's check it out." She replied to the bard, trying to shake off her discomfort.
-
“That sounds like a good idea.” Janus said, undoing and redoing his braid out of worry. It was one of his ticks to mess with his long hair. “Money or social power aren’t the only things one can ask for in return of a favor, you know. That’s just shallow to assume I only worried for you because of that, by the way.” He said, starting to regret the decision to save Candace. Or worry about her life.
-
Ink nodded slightly "askingl and Oracle sounds like a good idea" he said
-
Zander said "Then follow me. I'm willing to bet the town is panicking." and he started leading them to the oracle.
-
Candace shrugged, still a bit unsure. "Well, to this day I've never met a person who would ever do something for the well being of others unless they had something in it for them. Besides, you're a stranger to me. What else do you have to be worried about?" She explained. The last, and first, time she trusted someone, she ended up getting her parents killed. Then she got kidnaped and sold as a slave on the black market, where the scientist bought her for their experiments. Of course, this part she wasn't going to explain. It was nothing more than a pity story, and the last thing she needed was pity or to look pathetic and naive. She blinked herself back to reality before following the others.

Janus opened his mouth to respond to Candace, but didn't bother and instead followed the others. [i'She's more trouble then she's worth...'[/i] he thought, walking behind Ink. "Well aren't you a cutie. I love your hair. Is it natural or dyed?" he asked the white-blonde druid. -
Ink blushed at Janus's words and played with his scarf "its natural, as far as i know" he said shyly, looking around at the forest around them
-
Zander looked nervously as they walked through the forest. He'd never seen this kind of destruction ever before. Whatever that cloud was didn't care about anything. Soon they had reached the town where it looked like a meeting was being held.
-
(Well no, I've never seen a cloud that cared for others. I've always hoped to maybe see a day where a cloud would shout from above: Hey! Everyone alright? But alas, clouds just never seem to care. Is it because they are unable to think and feel? Is it because if they were to have a brain or heart the organs would fall from the sky without the solidity to support them? Who knows?)
Candace felt a bit anxious to see all the people. She walked a bit of a distance behind the men so they wouldn't sense her anxiety or see the way her tail tucked into her ears and her ears tucked back.
(I'm thinking Janus sees this and realizes that all her harshness is just from her fear. Then maybe if he understands it's nothing personal an actual friendship can eventually form as character build for both characters.) -
Janus having friends is a miracle tbh))
Janus took a quick glance behind him at Candace; he was a rogue, after all, and sensing things was pretty much his job. He would be a useless assassin if he couldn't do that.
Seeing Candace like that made him think back to when she was being chased by those men. Maybe she wasn't just surface level rude. Maybe he wasn't either.
"It's such an interesting color." He said, looking at Ink again. "Your name is... Ink, right?" -
Ink nodded slightly and glanced back at him "yeah, thats my name" he said before frowning at the gathering of people
-
(LOL, that's not really what I meant Magie. He said whatever the cloud was, implying it was some sort of creature.)
Everyone was chattering away, wondering what that thing in the sky was. The mayor was out front and said "Everyone settle down. We'll figure this out and stop whatever that thing was, if everyone can calm down."
