Zander said "I get paid only by those who wish to hear my music personally. And it's only because they offer." He then heard the twig snap and said "If you don't mind me asking my good lady, what are you?"

Candace rolled her eyes at the selfish elf and took a deep breath before coming out of her hiding spot, feeling a tad embarrassed as she kept her guard up. Candace calmed her fear before placing a hand on her waist and forcing a smirk. "You know what I just realized Janus? It appears you can't spell selfish without Elf. Who knew?" She chuckled. "As for your question," She continued to the Bard, her face now going serious and her eyes darkening a bit. "I'm what happens when humans mess with something they shouldn't..." She told him.

“I’m not selfish, I’m realistic. I don’t lnow how you expect me to survive without a place to live, or food, or a clean supply of water. And I don’t know how you expect me to pay for those things without using my talents for something other than meaningless entertainment.” Janus hissed, narrowing his eyes. “This may sound cruel, but in a way, you’re lucky. At least you’ve had a steady place to stay for the last ten years of your life.” Janus felt suddenly defensive. Who was she, to judge him?

Zander thought the tension was getting high so he looked in his magic book and played his song of calmness.
Heart drifting on like the words of the wind

Voice carried on with the clouds in the sky

Just when Candace was about to kill Janus, music began to cause her ears to twitch. She covered them in annoyance and shifted to human to calm down. She looked around at them shyly and rubbed her arm anxiously. "Uh... Sorry that I was rude to you..." She apologized to Janus, trying to hide her anger at his earlier words since she knew she spoke out of line first. "I'm a little less friendly as a Hybrid." She explained, her voice much softer and smoother than the rough, sassy voice she had as a hybrid.

Janus felt himself lose the defensive mood he was in and his body untensed, something it didn’t do often.
“It’s... fine.” He said. He then looked to Zander with a smile. “That’s some powerful magic you’ve got there.” -
Ink blinked and looked at Zander curiously as he tilted his head, his arms dropping to his sides. He nodded slightly at Janus' statement in agreement

Zander stopped and said "Thank you. It's one of the only spells I can do well. I tried a healing spell but I kept getting the notes wrong and every time I did, it ended up hurting than helping."
