Run.
A young woman with ruffled black hair, wolf ears, and a beautiful wolf tail ran through the forest, her feat carrying her faster and faster.
Not Fast Enough
Distracted, She tripped on a tree root and fell. To break her fall, she turned to a wolf and kept on running. She had to. Her life depended on it.
They're Catching Up...
Suddenly the wolf ran into an elf with long blonde hair. She heard the barking of bloodhounds and yelped before hiding in a bush. "They have her scent! This way!" A deep, booming voice called. "She's too fast! We can't chase her forever!" A similar but softer voice replied. "We can't let her escape either." He muttered. The wolf shuddered in fear, trying to calm her scent. -
Janus yelped in surprise upon being knocked over by the wolf. As he heard voices in the distancr, getting closer, he glanced from the bush the wolf was hiding in to the approaching men and bloodhounds.
And then he put on his best smile.
"Hello, gentlemen! Out on a hunt, I see!" Janus said, walking briskly forward so that they wouldn't see the trembling bush or smell the fear coming off of it. "If you're searching for the wolf that just passed by, she headed that a-way." He hitched a finger towards the left, away from behind him. "I do so enjoy a good hunt. Is it just for fun, or have you a mission to complete?" -
(Hey Pheonix, it's your turn.)
-
Oh)
Ink looked around as he walked through the woods with his staff slung on his back, mostly hidden by his scarf. He smiled when he spotted some birds and stopped to watch them before he frowned when he heard the sound of dogs barking in the distance. He turned and started walking in that direction, wanting to see what was going om -
Zander heard the distant barking of dogs but paid no mind to them. It was more than likely people hunting in the forest. This didn't concern him as he knew hunters gotta eat and make money, like him.
-
The man nodded and smiled. "Thankyou. We're looking for a wolf that escaped the research Center. Give a holler if you find her." The man replied before heading off in that direction. "Come on you lousy mutts! The elf isn't a wolf!" The man muttered to the bloodhounds who barked in the direction of the wolf's hiding spot. Once they were out of sight, the wolf came out of her hiding spot and changed into a human. "Thank you for helping me escape them... My name's Candace..." She whispered nervously.
-
"Don't sweat it. Besides, a debt is a debt, and you clearly owe me one after saving your life." Janus said, pulling his hair back into a ponytail. "Why were those people after you, anyway? You escaped the... research center, right?" He outstretched his scarred hand. "Name's Janus."
-
Ink heard voices and stopped, tilting his head curiously before he climbed a tree and used the branches to get closer to the source, doing his best to stay quiet
-
Zander soo grew bored and walked off, maybe to find the nearest town.
-
"Alright, but try not to cash in the dept when I'm in Hybrid form... I'm... not as agreeable then..." She muttered in agreement as she shook the elf's hand. "They were experimenting on me... Made me a Hybrid so I could fight for them. Being a wolf made me more confident in myself and more desperate to be free, so I escaped." I told him.
-
(*Candace told him)
-
"Experimentation is..." Janus shivered involuntarily, before pulling back up his signature, fake looking smile. "unpleasant, to say the least. Do you have anywhere to go? How long were you in there for?" He asked.
-
Ink frowned slightly at the conversation before he started to leave, deciding it was none of his business. Unfortunately, his horrible luck decided to kick in and the branch he was standing on snapped, causing him to fall out of the tree with a surprised yell
-
Zander walked until he came across an elf and an unknown creature. Before he could say hello, some man fell out of a tree next to him. He checked on the man and asked "Are you okay?"
-
Candace nodded as she shook his hand. "I think about ten years... I know I was around five then and I'm around sixteen now so... Must be somewhere around eleven." She replied. "As for a place to stay, I could try to find a pack as a wolf." She added.
