Ink waited outside the tent for them
-
Zander exited and walked into the map maker's shop. The man behind the counter said "Welcome to Billy's Map Emporium, how may I be of assistance?"
-
Candace smiled, happy to be right as they entered the shop. "Hello Billy. We're hoping to find a map to the Jewel of Life." (Sorry if I forgot the name. The name reminded me of Arceus and the Jewel of Life and that mixed me up.)
-
You were close! It's the Eye of Life. Same difference))
Janus stood in the doorway with his arms crossed, leaning against it. He didn't see a need to be a part of this conversation. -
Ink stood near Janus as he looked sroumd
-
Billy said "Give me a minute." and walked out to his back room. He looked around for his safe that he kept maps like that in. He got it out and opened the safe. He grabbed the map and brought it to the counter. He said "One map to the Eye of Life. That'll be 3 gold coin." Zander said "3 Gold Coin!"
-
-
Candace sighed. "Why does the map cost so much?" She asked calmly, hoping to find a reason to the map's price so she could reason.
-
Janus lifted an eyebrow. Haggling prices was one of his strongest suits.
-
Ink blinked in confusion at the price and frowned, tilting his head
-
"My friends, this map is very rare. Only 47 copies were made. 7 where given to 7 immortals that no one knows what happened to, and the rest were lost. I found this one by chance. It's either 3 gold coin or no map." said Billy. Zander sighed, looked in his bag and said "I only have one gold coin. Does anyone else have any?"
-
"I have nothing to my name..." Candace sighed, looking at the ground.
-
Janus brought out two gold coins, very reluctantly. He needed that money; even stolen money is better than no money. Of course had a few more gold coins, but they only last so long. "Here." he said, slightly annoyed. If so few maps had been made, why not just, oh I don't know, print more?
-
Ink watched them silently, unsure of what he should do
-
Billy said "This isn't just some run-of-the-mill map that I can copy on simple paper. This is a magic map. It can't be copied because it revels itself as you get closer to the treasure. And once you find the treasure, the map bursts into flames and is lost. Of course, if you die, then it resets." Zander gave him the coins and he said "Alright thank you for coming. But before you go, can I interest you in a compass, free of charge?"
