Janus smiled at Ink. “Thanks for the help.” He said giving him a wink. He tucked his pack under his cloak and matched his pace with Candace’s. “No idea.”
-
Ink blushed faintly and trailed behind the group, looking up at the sky with a slight frown
-
Zander said "I hope it won't be trolls. I hate those things."
-
"Trolls are very strong, but they're slow and quite brainless. I remember before I was taken, my pack would tame them as body guards. So I know a technique or two for distracting them, and one for taking them out when they get dangerous." Candace explained.
-
Janus shuddered at the thought of trolls. "Nasty things. Glad you'll be the one dealing with them and not me."
-
Ink frowned at them but didnt say anything, instead deciding to keep an eye out for any threats
-
Zander said "I don't know how you can reason with trolls."
-
"Same way you train a dog." Candace replied. "Or kill one if he bites." She added. "Metaphorically of course..." She added, remembering that wolves were canines.
-
Janus thought briefly of the trolls he had killed before. They were tiresome things. “Let’s jist keep trekking.” He said, matching his long strides with Zander’s.
-
Ink glanced at Candace at her words and looked a little confused but then paused in thought "would it be a good idea for someone to scout ahead?
-
"I'd probably be the best at knowing what's ahead, since as a hybrid I can hear and smell for miles." Candace replied, beginning to reason with her wolf. Eventually the wolf complied and Candace allowed herself to shift to hybrid. "I'm doing this for the human half, not for you." She made clear once she was a hybrid. She closed her eyes and focused on her scent and hearing to see if anything was ahead.
