Daniel kept looking around until he found Claire's hoof prints. He began to follow them knowing they would lead to Cassady.
-
Cassady calmed Claire down, trying to get her to stop pacing. "Are you trying to get me caught?" Cassady sighed. Claire just layer down and ate grass. Cassady sighed, hoping that Daniel came alone.
-
Daniel heard what Cassady said and said "I think it's too late for that."
-
Cassady froze, taking a sharp breath. "I won't attack you... But... If you're here to take me back... I won't go with you." She told him, scared to look at him.
-
Daniel asked "Why not?"
-
"I'm training. I am leaving the class of fire knights and training on my own. I... I know that no one would take my reasons seriously. They would see me as a silly child and I would loose any respect I had been able to gain." Cassady sighed. "Then again... Running away obviously did that anyways. Since they sent someone. Anyone else I could have just chased off or tied up or something. Of course, they had to send you." Cassady sighed, turning to face him. She knew she probably looked like a fool to him now. She had nearly gained his respect and now he probably saw her as a childish coward.
-
Daniel could relate to what Cassady was saying, because not too long ago he felt like running away and being his own knight. He said "I see."
-
Cassady rubbed her arms. She knew what this feeling was. She let herself get close to him. Now what? Now she would be miserable without him? But she couldn't ask him to stay. You know, cause Hi! We've only known eachother a few days. But I have a good feeling about you. How about you give up your entire life and join me on my hopeless quest to go rouge? Yeah... no. Cassady knew if she went back, she would have a lot of questions to answer and it would not be fun.
-
Daniel said "If you're not feeling up to snuff, I won't force you to come back. But think on this advice my mentor told me. Every knight is important, no matter the element." He then started to walk away.
-
"Everything is not fine with my teacher. I know I'm just supposed to keep calm and do what my instructor tells me. But he... Doesn't think of me as a knight so much as he thinks of me as a girl. If... You know what I mean. The only way to keep him off my back is to act aggressive and dramatic in nature so it doesn't look targeted towards him." Cassady admited. She knew he probably already saw her as a fool. So she wanted him to at least know why she was running away.
-
Daniel stopped and looked back. He said "I had noticed him acting unprofessional earlier. Why didn't you just report him?"
-
"Because he's better than the last one I had. And the next one could be worse. If I report too many teachers, it could just be seen as me being the issue." Cassady explained.
-
Daniel asked "What did your last one do?"
-
"He punished me in front of the other fire knights because I rejected him. That's why the other fire knights choose to avoid me. They respected the old instructor more and blame me for getting him kicked out." Cassady explained. "This guys a pain. But he can handle the word no." She concluded.
-
Daniel sighed and said "I guess there really is nothing to bring you back." He then kept walking, now having a few choice words for her teacher when he returns.
