"Cool! So why don't they let you be a member of the royal gaurd?" Elizabeth asked.

Gerald said "I don't know. I think it might be me being a thief. Or, they don't think I'm strong enough."

"Huh. Yet they let a girl in." Elizabeth laughed as she stacked her books. "I bet when you met me you'd never see me as a princess!" She laughed, playing with her skirt.

Gerald chuckled and said "Yeah, I could have never imagined that. So how is the princess lifestyle?"

(Sorry, I was playing video games with my brother.)
"Not bad. I can only hang out with other princesses really though so tha kinda puts a bummer on things." She replied, sitting beside him. -

Gerald said "I see. I remember you said you didn't want to be adopted because you'll just come back to the orphanage." -
"Yeah. I guess that didn't happen at least." She laughed. "So has anything in this town changed since I left? Cause I've explored the whole town and the whole capital." She told him.

Gerald said "The fruit vender that chased me when we first met, moved town, and some guy open and oddities curio shop in his place. Other than that, nothing else happened."

"Oh, okay. So you still live in that barn?" Ella asked.

Gerald said "Yeah, but it's starting to fall into disrepair."

"Well, you're staying in the castle until the Capitals rebuilt." She told him.

Gerald said "Well that's very nice of you guys."

"Yeah, but it's because they want someone to protect us in case whoever attacked our kingdom comes back." Ella replied. "But I chose you because I missed having a friend I could be myself around." She smiled.

Gerald asked "You mean you can't be yourself around your family?"

"Well, a princess has to be perfect. Obedient, well mannered, doesn't take risk, doesn't sneak off." Ella answered, climbing onto her bed. "But it's not too bad." She smiled.
