Gerald said "Wow the king and queen. They have graced that orphanage with their presence."

"Yeah, I guess. Turns out they found my book and now they want to adopt me." Ella told him as she sat on the hill. "They don't know it's me though." Ella added.

Gerald said "You sure being with them would be a bad thing. I mean, they're the king and queen for crying out loud."

Ella shrugged. Just then, the Friar came outside with the Queen. "These drawings look like Elizabeth's alright. She has sketch books her parents left her all over her room filled with drawings like these. Poems too." The Friar told the queen, pointing up to Ella. Ella sighed and pretended she didn't know why the Friar was pointing at her. She finally made a friend at this place. And she didn't think it would be easy to make friends with snooty princesses.

Gerald just sat around as his dog joined them up the hill.

The fifteen year old princess ran up the hill. "Hello Elizabeth! I'm Isabella! And that's my sister Marilyn!" She greeted. "Hello there! Do you want to be my sister?" Marilyn asked. Ella shrugged in response to the girl's. She looked at Gerald with a questioning look.

Gerald gave a look like what are you asking me for. He wasn't sure what to say anyway.

"Is this your boyfriend?" Marilyn asked. "Mary! You know not to say things like that." Issabella giggled. "Common! My mum's waiting for you! She loves your drawings and would love to learn more about you!" Isabella cheered. Ella shrugged and followed them down the hill, waving goodbye to Gerald.

Gerald waved goodbye and as Ella left he said "Doubtful I'll see her again." He looked over and saw his dog on her side. He said to her "I think I just found a name for you. Ella."

Ella heard Gerald name his dog and smiled as she climbed into the carriage. She waved goodbye to Gerald as they packed up her books and her few toys. "Leave the clothes here. I already bought many dresses for her." The Queen told the Friar as the carriage rode off.

Gerald watched the carriage ride away and said "Come on Ella. I think its time to steal dinner." He got up and he and Ella walked towards the market.

Six years later, a terrible war spread out on the capitital. Instead of fighting back which was hopeless during Princess Ella's birthday, the royal guard focused on retreating everyone so they wouldn't be followed. Since there was room in Ella's home town, the many protected carriages went there.

(I don't know if Gerald is already a member of the royal guard, so correct me if I'm wrong.)
Gerald got into one of the protected carriages with some other members of the royal guard and his dog, Ella. -
(He's a part time member. So he is still secretly a thief to feed himself. But when assigned a job from the royal gaurd he takes it.)

(And it was only the capital kingdom. You're at the safe kingdom where the capital is going now.
