He apologized silently again. This new information frightened him and made him feel even worse for Blue. He gave a tender pat to his back in order to offer a light comforting gesture. His eyes stared at the other for a few moments as they walked, and suddenly it felt like that was the only person he could see. Everybody else disappeared for a moment. He bit down on his lip, shook his head, and broke the gaze. Feeling too bad for others was one of his lower kind of traits. Sometimes he invested so much time into helping someone who needed it that he would lose track of other things. He wouldn't allow himself to do that this time around.
The school did not seem as entirely bad as it had before. The other people seemed better in terms of appearance and general personality. He held his breath for a second, recalling what the boy had just stated. He swallowed heavily, his face pulling tightly into one of warning. He wanted to tell him hat he was there to help even if he'd only just met him. When people lent a hand like Blue, they deserved plenty in return. -
Blue shrugged. "I lived. I'm alive. I just hope you don't go through what I did." He told him. He remembered freshman year vividly- how hard it was. And with Liam being mute- he couldn't deny, he was worried. Blue quietly swore that he would do everything and anything within his power to keep Liam safe- to keep him from going through what he had. No one deserved that. Absolutely no one.
He wasn't just pitying Liam because he was mute, either. Not because he was good looking. Nor because he wanted to have a friend. No, Blue was helping Liam because he seemed like a good person, and, well, he could relate to him. In an odd way. They both had their vices, and they damn well both had their virtues. And, in a way, being close to another human and relating to him, was very new to Blue. And quite satisfying.
Although the communication was difficult, Blue believed they could become great friends, quickly and easily. -
I really like your style of writing x3
Liam couldn't do much but shrug unsurely. He wondered if they were close to the classroom. He didn't want Blue to be late because he was caught up in showing him around. That would bring on a pit of guilt that he felt as though he would not be able to shake. He innocently glanced over at Blue once more, nodding his head in understanding. He wanted to help him, to make sure he felt okay most days. He didn't enjoy it when people were sad and if Blue was ever sad, he wanted to be available.
He thought back to when he met Marina, smiling at how she had approached him. She'd said hello in sign language and had the biggest smile plastered across her face. It was a smile filled with warmth and the love of a friend that had been a space Liam needed filled. The two had continued to talk in sign, saying anything they wanted as it seemed that no one else was aware of what hey were saying.
They would talk about the sky and the way colors bent and how space seemed so unreal. They would discuss how to save the children in Africa and how to prevent more pollution from damaging the Earth. He would recite poems that he wrote and Marina would silently clap, making him feel like the world's best poet. There, he was on top of the world. Nothing could put him down. Marina was always there to save him. He hoped Blue was like that. -
Awh thanks bro.. Honestly I think I use words like "indeed" and "especially" too often and make my sentences too long but thankkksss
I love your style as well :3
Blue realized he had dampened the mood a tad. And it made him feel quite awkward. He didn't want to be pitied. No, that was the last thing he wanted. He realized others had it way worse than he did. When others pitied him, it made him feel selfish, in a way. He didn't like it when others felt bad for him. No, not at all.
As these thoughts invaded his head, they turned the corner to the hallway where the classroom was in. Within seconds, they were outside the door. "Here we are!" He said, brightly. Of course, this was forced, as he wasn't feeling to well on the inside. Perhaps it was the drone of the medication that made his spirits dampen so easily? "Have a good class, Liam." He gave the blond haired boy a gentle touch to the shoulder, trying to give him some confidence, and walked off to his class.
He realized he was going to be late; and that made for a detention. He had been late four times this week already, which accumulated a detention, indeed. Blue sighed at the thought of this, not looking forward to sitting in a room alone for an hour, writing an essay on how what he did was wrong and how he'll improve. Ugh, how dull. Another possible hour of sleep lost. Damn. -
Nah not even you're great x3
Thanks x)
Liam cheeks turned a rosy pink due to the other's actions. This typically happened when he was incredibly happy. He stepped into the classroom and it seemed as though all the pairs of eyes zeroed in on him. Automatically, he could feel his shell reharden over him. He took a spot in an empty desk, his nose twitching furiously in worry. The class didn't look nearly as accepting as he had planned. The teacher was a burly man with graying hair. A pair of glasses were pushed back in this hair, the little crinkles by his eyes visible. He placed his hands on his hips, eyeing Liam.
"Right on time," he said as the bell rang out. Liam's heart sank. He wished thathe hadn't needed help. He knew that having Blue show him to the classroom was a mistake and he should have declined the offer.
The man introduced himself to Liam, stating that his name was Mr. Briles. The sixteen year old gave a nod of his head. He could feel his ears burning in hot embarrassment. Some of the students turned their head to get a better view of the new kid. The teacher pointed a finger directly at him.
"Why don't you come up and tell us a little about yourself?" His stomach churned violently. He shook his head gently, he could feel light trembles along his body. He thought that all of his teachers had been informed of his disability.
"Liam, is it? I know what you can and can not do, if you know what I mean. There's a board and chalk. Tell us about yourself." At about the same pace as a snail, he pulled himself from his desk and dragged himself to the front board. There was a variety of colors to choose from, and having such a love for nature, he was drawn to the green. He picked it up, beginning to write about himself in his curly handwriting. It took some time as he could hardly control he shaking in his hand, but he managed to write a few bullet points about himself.
-I like animals and I will not eat meat.
-Writing and reading are my favorite hobbies.
-Thunderstorms are terrible
-Kangaroos are my favorite animal!
-I'm great at psychology so I'm glad I have this class in my schedule.
He set the chalk down, staring at the pale dust it left behind. Hurriedly grabbing a tissue and wiping off the material, he noticed a few people laughing in the back. His expression changed simply. Letting the tissue fall into the trash, he went back to his desk and stared at the chalkboard. He hadn't exactly noticed that he wrote his fear. His cheeks turned a deep red.
"You seem like a nice kid, Liam. I like that you put down a fear. It's nice to know sometimes, yeah? Also..." He stood, staring at the laughing teens with dark, stormy eyes, "I don't think laughing is necessary seeing as you have a disability, as well. You don't seem to have the ability to listen and to study, so that's why you two are failing my class." Some others let out amused and deep tones in response. The teacher gave a slight wink to Liam, who grinned in return. He erased the board and clapped his hands. "Let's work, shall we?" -
Thanks mayne
Ye no problem
Blue was off to computer sciences, his favorite class of the day. Although it was a small class, if only about five to ten kids, he enjoyed it greatly. Blue got to learn a lot about computers, coding, software, hardware, everything. The true basis of his computer knowledge was advanced greatly due to this class. It wasn't even a class so much as something he enjoyed.
As he thought about this, Blue slid his hands into the pockets of his tight, black jeans. They were awfully scuffed up; with little doodles on the thighs, stains, and paint splatters on them. He had owned them for a few years, now, and we're almost too tight on him, since they had shrunk. His sister, Rouge, often ridiculed him for keeping the same jeans and wearing them so often.
Rouge was a tall girl, standing at about 5'9". She was beautiful, too. With long, curly chocolate brown hair. She had her septum pierced, but it showed off her perfectly chiseled nose. Her eyes were a piercing gray, that made her somehow frightening. She was quite strong and athletic as well, while being quite girly. She was a natural rebel, and loved to betray the status quo.
After about five minutes of similar mental tangents, he found himself in the upstairs right wing, on the highest floor. There he found the large computer room; where about twenty state of the art computers resided. How the school got their hands on them, he had no clue, but he was glad they did. Blue apologized for being late, and explained to the teacher he had to show the new boy to his class. Luckily, the teacher, a young man who was taller than himself with dusty blond hair, liked him- and gave him a warning. He said it was a nice, worthy thing to do, after all, but he had to get working immediately.
Without a second thought, the boy turned on the computer, logged in, and began hounding away at the current assignment. -
:3 yes no problems
I have to sleep I am very worn out but I will be on tomorrow :)
And like that, everything seemed okay. They immediately dove into a specific area of study - schizophrenia and its subtypes. He was always particularly interested in that illness as his uncle suffered from it. He could remember trying to calm him down to the best of his ability when he would fly into an episode. It was hard, but somehow, Liam typically managed to put the man into a better state of mind for a period of time until somebody could really help. As he took notes, his head played back a memory from his fourteenth birthday party.
His uncle had just given him a gift and was sitting back to observe his reaction. Liam shook the box and tore into the gift wrapping, revealing a beautiful, appealing journal set. The assortment include ten hardcover spiral notebooks like the one he wrote in to communicate, three different colored, high end pens, decorated letter paper, and a journal with a leather binding and cover. It had a strong magnetic bookmark and even came with a lock if Liam desired keeping everything he wrote a secret. The fourteen year old at the time clapped to show how much he loved the gift. Nobody else was around and he noticed the shift in the man's demeanor.
He was scared and looking everywhere, whispering and rambling about somebody and how they were coming for him. This terrified the younger, of course, but he knew he had to take action. He went towards him, tapping him a few times. The man was still worked up about some men and the plans they had for him. Liam reached forward cautiously and hugged him, giving gentle pats to his hair like he'd seen his aunt do on various occasions.
The sixteen year old returned his attention to the class, coming to the realization that it was almost over. Forty five minutes had passed by all too quickly. -
Alrighty thenn
Blue sighed quietly as the class came to an end. It went by quite fast; time flies, he supposed. He looked over to one of his friends, Rose. She was a skinny, pale girl and wore large glasses. Her chestnut colored hair was done in a braid to the side. She was quite cute, indeed. She had nice, green eyes, and freckles adorned her face.
He might be attracted to her. If he wasn't the way he was, that is.
Regardless, he spoke quietly to her, as the teacher didn't like talking in class, and she was a quiet girl, anyways. "Can we go to the library after school? To study? I'm behind in algebra and I could use your help." Naturally, Rose was great with math. She was in trigonometry and calculus. She was quite talented with numbers, indeed.
"Only if you help me in English. I have an essay to write and I can't seem to form the words right."
"Of course," Blue said, grinning. Normally he didn't go anywhere but his bed after school, but he did want to pick up a few books as well. And the library was only a block or so away.
"Also," he continued, "Have you heard much about the new boy, Liam? I met him this morning. He was quite friendly."
"No, haven't heard much. I'll look out for him, though." Rose said.
Blue hadn't an idea why he brought the subject up. But he figured one of his best friends should know about his new friend. Hopefully they could become friendly with one another as well. That would be nice. He wanted to set Liam up with as many friends as possible to ensure he did well. It was awfully hard to focus on school when you don't have many friends to depend on. -
sorry I left on such short notice last night I was just tired AF
While the other students became busy with a homework paper for the last few minutes of class, the teacher asked Liam to see him. The boy collected his things and hurried to meet the teacher's acquaintance. The man held a tight grin, his glasses over his eyes and his hands folded over each other. "Thank you for being so attentive in class today. I appreciate it. It's nice to see students so invested in a course. Did you enjoy it?" Liam bobbed his head joyously. The class was performed and done in a way that really made him feel like he was in a psychology class, not a copy and remember kind. Mr. Briles gave him a double thumbs up.
"Great. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day. See you tomorrow and good luck with the rest of today!" Liam thanked him in his mouthing the words kind of way, turning and waiting for the bell to ring. As he did so, he thought about what Marina might have been doing at that moment. Usually, they were in Creative Writing at this time, contemplating about characters and the worlds they could throw them into. He slid his phone from his pocket, checking if Marina had sent him any messages. When they left Montana, he only told her a day before they left. She'd been infuriating and screaming about how he should have told her earlier. She hadn't even used a lick of sign language. That was the note they'd ended on and it hurt him.
He sent a quick message: Marina..Please. You know I'm sorry. Hope to hear from you soon. The bell rang out as the message sent. He exited the classroom, yanking his schedule from his pocket and staring at it. -
Is okay
I was watching anime anyways XD
Blue got up immediately when the bell rang. He was quite excited for his next class, as it was biology, a class he and Liam had together. Controlling his obvious excitement, and partial anxiety, he said goodbye to Rose and thanked her for deciding to help him in algebra. She merely gave a small nod.
Blue began to walk to his next class, at a faster pace than he would usually walk to biology. He liked biology a lot, but it didn't appeal to him as much as biotechnology or computer sciences. Blue liked the advancement of biotechnology more, since the biology class he was talking, Biology II, was focused on the history of biology and scientific method.
He knew the class was relatively close to where he was currently, and had no need to rush. However, he struggled to contain excitement inside of him as he walked. He was practically skipping to class- and it took him as much control as he had not to run. He didn't want to be looked at weirdly, either, and attempted to force himself to slow down. This was practically pointless.
He quickly got to the classroom, and Blue was almost elated to see the salt and pepper haired woman that caught the class. She wasn't very old, but it was clear that in her genetics, her family grayed quite early. -
Oh nice nice x3
He recognized the classroom as one he'd seen when he was wandering. The location wasn't too difficult to find. He felt a little lost without his friend by his side, but when he got the hang of manuevering through the halls, things felt easier. The classroom soon came into sight when he turned into a specific hallway. He hurried towards it, he didn't want to be late. He also knew that this was a class he shared with Blue. This made his stomach do a flip flop in excitement. That seemed to be the specific emotion that was constantly returning over and over and over.
He stepped into the classroom, giving a slight wave in the teacher's direction. He took a glance at every person in the classroom, hoping that he would spot Blue right away. Thankfully, he spotted the platinum haired male and hurried over to join him with his smile giving off a ball of warmth. He was almost like a kitten, always bursting with energy. He slid himself into he desk beside Blue, waving.
He put the necessary materials on his desk, looking up at the teacher. He hoped she didn't make him introduce himself as well. It was difficult enough to do it once already, let alone again. -
Yee ye
Blue smiled back, quietly whispering a hello. He got out his biology books; thick, heavy ones and his iPad. A lot of the homework they did was on the iPads, and some of the resources at well. It had always elated him that the school gave the students technology. Of course, there were tracking devices and keyloggers on the iPads, to make sure the kids were acting according to school conduct. This didn't bother Blue much, though. He wasn't like many kids- he didn't have many friends, nor any romantic affairs. Even if he did, he had his own computer and cell phone. These were protected with a firewall and state of the art virus and spyware detector. These were expensive, but well worth it. Blue also used a VPN on these and a browser that didn't give his location or any information. It was quite simple, really.
Blue was lost in his thoughts for so long- he didn't realize the teacher was talking until she called on him. Apparently he had fazed out for longer than he had thought. "Blue?" She asked, pursing her lips in borderline exasperation.
"U-uh. Yes? Repeat the question, please.." He said, quietly. His pale face turned pink with embarrassment. It didn't take him long, either, to realize the entire class was glaring at him, holding down radical, amused laughter. Blue wanted to slink away, feeling the world close into him. His throat became dry, swallowing as he stared, terror stricken, at the teacher. -
:3
Liam had been listening intently to the teacher and seeing Blue in such a pickle was a sign that it was his turn to help the other. Casually, he made it look as though he was scribbling down notes. In reality, he wrote down the answer to the teachers question. Carbon dioxide. He slid the notebook to the corner of the desk in hopes that his friend would see it despite his impaired vision. The boy linked his fingers together and stared ahead as though he was examining the board.
He recalled the day in which he'd done the same for Marina. She'd been focused on the bad day she'd been having. They had been in chemistry and were asked a question about chemical reactions. Marina was called on and Liam scooped in and saved the day.
His cell phone vibrated in his pocket and he grinned. He assumed automatically that it was Marina. He would wait until the end of the class to respond to her. She'd been the only person he texted all day and so he was nearly completely positive that it was her. His head was going through all the things she may have said. -
Sorry for responding so late
Was at aquarium
Noticing the note almost immediately, Blue out on his large framed glasses, looking to the board and then to the note. He shyly sputtered out, "C-carbon dioxide?" It was to his dismay, though, that he had not spoken loud enough. The teacher had not heard him, and demanded the answer once again. His cheeks now bright red, he was lucky enough to have a friend in the class to shout out that he had said carbon dioxide.
The teacher, seemingly frustrated, nodded and confirmed it was the correct answer. She began to scribble notes on the worn out, green chalk board in her messy font. Blue, attempting at casuality, opened up his green spiral notebook. It was three subject, but was dedicated to biotechnology and biology- as stated on the cover in maroon sharpie. He opened to the first clean page, and wrote, in mechanical pencil, the notes down in his loopy signature handwriting. He pretended to be attent, as he copied the notes, but the were really just words to Blue. Not that he didn't understand, he did. But his mind was in another place- not processing the statements he was writing. -
Awe yay :D what did you seeeee
Liam looked back to his notebook, writing down some of the remaining notes. He was only half interested in the class. Biology was not his strong suit. As previously mentioned, he could manage a relatively good grade, but if he could get rid of the class, he would do it in a heartbeat. The teacher seemed okay enough. He didn't think that he would totally despise the class for the rest of the year, which was a good sign.
He set his pencil down, deciding it would be better for him to listen for the rest of the time. He was a bit tired. The family had taken longer than expected to arrive at their new home from Montana, and he hadn't gotten to bed until late. He usually was in bed and snoring away by ten o' clock. He put his elbows on his desk and his chin in his hands. The sixteen year old was also hungry. He could feel his tummy rumbling every now and again. Usually, he was one for small cheese sandwiches and salads. If the school had both of those of a good quality, he would be pleased.
He glanced at the clock, sighing. He knew that the next period was gym, something he thankfully had with Blue. Never being one to love gym, knowing that someone he liked would be there placated his fears over the class by far.
