At the sound of the word 'Monopoly', Liam nearly exploded out of the chair. He began to clap in a vivacious manner, nodding a whole lot. He composed himself after a few momenta, his ocean eyes gazing in Blue's direction. Monopoly was a favorite in his family, and things typically got very heated when it came to property bargaining and the works. Liam had been a master of persuasion when it came to affairs pertaining to the board game. When he sold his railroad for four hundred or when he handed off a hotel, he managed to find a loophole so that he came out victorious.
It was always a triumph, watching everybody's faces as he created an empire. Building mountains out of Monopoly money, forcing power at the hands of chance cards and the roll of a die. It was strategic and kept him on the edge of his seat. Paxton, clearly alarmed by the boy's sudden outburst, ruffed, but when he came to the realization that the situation was under control, he laid back down. Liam waited patiently for Blue to pull the game up, wondering how the controls worked on a cellular device. His family owned every version except Empire, which he found boring and bereft of the same intensity as the original. -
Ye sorry I fell asleep last night :/
Blue chuckled a little at the boy's reaction. That was one of the things he adored most about the other boy, and he didn't suppose he would ever stop adoring it. He pulled his phone out of his pocket, ignoring the text that was practically nursing out of his inbox completely, and swiped across the screen a few times. They were dozens of apps on his phone screen, so it took him a moment to find the right one. He wished he had his tablet or computer, they had a bigger screen, but this would have to do. Finding Monopoly on the fifth page, he tapped on it and booted it up. It began to play a quiet tone of what could be described as elevator music. He clicked on "Tabletop" so they wouldn't have to move the phone. Blue also set house controls so you got money when landing on "Free Parking". He chose the cat as his piece, leaving Liam to choose his.
He glanced to the other boy expectantly, smirking a little. He might not have been the best at monopoly, but Blue was good with business and good with computers. Purchases and such made since to him. Blue often incorporated complex ideas such as loans into Monopoly. And although the game wasn't made for it, Blue ran the game a step up perfectly. It worked for him. He just hoped Liam was able to keep up. And, for this reason, he smirked in excitement.
As a freshman, Blue had taken a business course about running business and money. As a sophomore, he had taken a finance course, which was required for all sophomores. Blue had enjoyed these two greatly, and had moved on to study more independently on his computer. It was quite fun for him, and a great pastime while bored. -
dun say sorrrryyyy
Liam examined his choices, eventually clicking on the icon that would make his game piece a pie. He recognized that such piece from the special edition of Monopoly called The America. He grinned. That was one of his favorite versions of the classic board game. He listened into the music, shutting his eyes and dancing in a jazzy fashion in order to further amuse the other male. He had to be sure to keep composed as he had before.
The game that they were going to play would be slightly difficult as negotiating would be a totally different story. He would either have to write it down or convey exactly the deal he wanted to make. That didn't bother him so much. Blue was worth playing the game in a way that he wasn't used to. He grinned at the thought, looking at the other boy with glazed, happy eyes.
He was high. Not literally, of course, but off of the idea that he'd found someone so kind and lovely all around. Blue seemed down to earth and willing to accept help. It showed a better side of people that not everybody gets to witness. -
Whyy
The game started, and Blue took his turn. He rolled the dice, which rolled a seven. The game automatically moved the cat, in a highly animated, amusing fashion, and landed on Oriental Avenue. The game asked whether he wanted to pass or buy it. Of course, the boy clicked on the green check mark- to buy it. He clicked "end turn" and the game flipped around so Liam could view clearly. "Your turn." He said. His eyes caught motion in the corner of his eye, his eyes wide when he saw Jaune eagerly waving Blue over. 'One second.' He mouthed, holding up an index finger. Blue looked back to Liam, clearing his throat. "I'll be right back, play your turn." He hopped off the bed and creeped out into the hallway.
"What is it?" Blue asked his brother, nervous. The look in Jaune's medium blue eyes worried him, and Blue bit his lip in anxiety. There were a number of things Jaune could say that could turn out badly. And Jaune said the one he was dreading the most.
"Oh, no.." Blue covered his mouth in shock.
"I'm so sorry Blue. The doctors and I tried everything- But mom-" Jaune was cut off by Blue, both of their eyes watering.
"How long?" He asked, his voice stern.
"They say two months. Maybe less." Blue's eyes widened at the response.
"No, no, no.. This was not supposed to happen! It's not fair!" Blue attempted to remain quiet, but he was attracting eyes from everyone around. -
bc it's no big deaaaaal
Liam was highly entertained by the application's version of doing things, and he found himself worried when Blue exited the room. He rolled the dice, and his amount totaled nine, moving his piece over to Connecticut Avenue. The animation for the pie made him laugh silently. He bought the property, setting the device down as it would then be Blue's turn.
He could hear the bit of commotion from outside the door, and folded his hands awkwardly, setting them on his lap. Paxton worriedly looked to him, shaking his tail and performing little actions to relax the sixteen year old. Liam watched him, his eyebrows pulling downwards and his face turning more upset by the second. Something was wrong, he could almost sense it.
He hoped greatly that everything was alright with Blue. If it turned out that he had to serve some kind of sentence at the hospital or even worse, rehabilitation, it would frighten the boy. He would make every attempt to see the other, but he was aware of the fact that there was only so much an individual could do. He twiddled him thumbs, glancing around the room to take his mind off of the impending bad news.
His father had noticed that it was almost time for them to leave, only about twenty minutes for Liam to meet him at the front. A short while before, he had settled himself into a plush, comfortable chair near a fountain in the main lobby. Rather plump, long fish swam through it, causing little splashes to erupt in the clear water. The man leaned back with his arms supporting his head. -
I'm such a sleepyheaddd
Blue walked back into the room, trying to hide his fluster and worry. Not to mention how distraught he was at the recent news. He sat back on the bed, managing a small smile. Of course, it was fake. "My turn?" He asked, giving a small tilt of the head. He glanced down on the app, realizing it was, indeed, his turn. He rolled the ice, finding he had landed on community chest and had to paid 50 dollars to Liam. Blue crossed his arms in mock frustration. He frowned a little. "That right there? Unfair." He complained, being as theatrical as possible.
This scene was merely to disguise the emotional low he was going through, on the inside. He was completely torn down. How could this happen? Just like the game forcing him to pay fifty dollars, it was unfair. He had merely landed on the wrong space, what had he done to deserve this? Okay, so there was probably plenty of things he had done wrong. But that wasn't the point. The news had shocked him, it wasn't at all what he had expected. It was like rolling a die, he supposed. It was a mere game of chance. He couldn't hate the game and there was no player to hate, either. It was a mere mix of unpleasant emotions with no direction; like a hurricane. A hurricane was a large rage of winds and water, a huge storm, with no purpose or forewarning to its onslaught. -
sweepy peepy x)
Liam averted his eyes from Blue and to the game. Out of his peripheral vision, he noticed Paxton shaking and playing about, like he did when Liam was sad or stressed or worried. But the boy with the light eyes wasn't any of those things. He was content, much like he'd spent a day in the pool and was finally reclining and allowing himself to relax. That was when he knew there was something totally off about the entire situation. It took him a moment, but he managed to find the pen and paper, scribbling down a quick question. Everything alright? Are you okay? His eyes were soft as he passed the notebook to the other boy.
He was prepared for anything. In fact, he expected the worse. It helped the pain hurt less, in his opinion. When a person set low expectation's, and don't let themselves think something higher will happen, it's easier to accept anything that had occurred. He wished he'd done the same thing with his Uncle Peter, not let himself become so attached that he hoped every night the man would be a least a little better. That's exactly the reason he was taking such a long time recovering from the news.
With this, at least he knew anything could go wrong. -
Truuuu
Blue shrugged a little at the question. He didn't entirely want Liam to know he would be admitted to a mental hospital in a few days. He would be allowed a few days out of the hospital to collect work from school, say goodbye to his friends, pack, meet with his doctors, therapists and psychiatrist and just in general accept the fact he was going to be off to an institution in a few days. This made him frown, but the idea of lying to Liam hurt him. Hurt him a lot. "Well- No. I have five days and then I'm off to Moriehill Institution of Rehabilitation. It's like three hours north of here, and I think I'm going to hate it. I could spend up to two months there, Liam. I can't- I can't be without you that long." The boy grabbed onto the hospital bed sheets, frowning and shaking gently. He was afraid. He was angry, he was sad.
There was nothing he could do. His mother had made the decision. It wasn't the doctor's decision, he knew. They just gave a recommendation. Rouge and Jaune had fought the verdict tooth and nail. But they couldn't do anything, either. He hated his mom for so selfishly doing this to him. Others might say it was for his benefit and a selfless move. It wasn't. Although it could help him, it was going to hurt him. He didn't want it, and his mother so blindly thought it would help him. It was what she wanted- her son to be magically better in two months.
Oh, it would take much longer than that. -
you needs cat naps
His heart seemed to stop for a moment. His mind went black, absolutely nothing was in his head to grab onto and write done. He inhaled deeply through his nostrils, linking the fingers on each hand, his eyes turning a melancholy shade of a greyish blue. They were peculiar in that sense, and did do that often, but when they did, it was typically when he was incredibly disheartened. He didn't want to cry. He felt as though that would only make Blue more upset frightened. He bit down on his lip, itching the back of his neck before responding to the boy.
Is there not anything your siblings and I can do? I do not want you to go. I don't know why, but I really feel like I need you around. And I guess you need me around, too. Can I try to convince whoever made the decision otherwise! Say I need you for communication purposes or something? He wanted a solution to alleviate all of the things that were coming down on him. Now, when he went home, if he couldn't fix the problem, he would have to find a breath of acceptance for Blue and where he may be going. It wasn't fair, just like Blue had said about the game of Monopoly. His heart ached, in reality. He passed the notebook to the boy, his nose twitching. -
I'm just nocturnal during the weekend and it fahks me up
Blue shrugged. "My siblings tried. There's no point anymore. The decision has been made." He said, sighing. He didn't want to inform Liam that the decision maker was his mother, as Liam had gotten a bad enough impression of her already today. "I'm okay, I accept it. But I worry for you and I. Indeed, I do. I'm afraid to leave you, I don't want to. And I don't know if you feel the same way, but-" The boy bit his lip, knowing the other boy had to leave soon. This wouldn't be a good note to end on, he didn't think. So, he had just stopped talking, hoping the mute boy would attempt to change the subject, or just drop it and keep playing all together.
The boy tried to focus on monopoly. He gathered a strategy- or attempted. His mind was jumbled up. He couldn't think straight. This subject, or these subjects, would consume his mind for the five days leading up to his departure, and even after. He would think of Liam in the padded cell, he would talk to his therapist about Liam. He would tell his friends about Liam. It would be Liam, Liam, Liam. And that scared him in the most appealing way. -
fahks omg xDD
Liam leaned forward until he was able to throw his arms around Blue in another tight hug. He didn't want him to leave, and the fact that he only had five days before the other made his departure was terrifying. He could feel his chest heaving, reminding him how absolutely moritifying this situation was. He did feel the same way, he felt the exact same way. He desired to have more time with Blue. As easily as he'd met the boy, he was being ripped away from him. He wasn't sure why, but it reminded him of the Holocaust. Innocent people finding significant others and family members, then being pulled away like there was nothing binding them together.
He wanted to scream. He wanted to let out all of the words he was thinking. The boy also wanted to scold himself for comparing such a problem to the Holocaust. It was dramatic and made him seem only like a hormonal teenager. He couldn't avoid how much he desired the embrace and affection, so the hug was something he needed. If he had the courage, he might have worked up enough nerve the kiss the boy.
That was stupid.
No one kisses on the first day except for his parents. -
Yes fahks
Blue wrapped his arms around the shorter boy. He wanted to cry. He wanted to sob. He wanted to bawl. He couldn't believe he was being torn away so quickly from someone he had gotten so quickly attached to. It hurt. It made him lose all will to live, after he had just regained it. No. He wasn't going to sob. He could get through this. Blue would have to endure. It was part of survival. He blinked a few times, not letting the other boy go just yet. He wanted more and more time, more and more affection from him. It really was love at first sight.
It felt like a romantic movie or book. Where the guy and the girl fall in love the first time they meet, but they're both damaged. One eventually attempts suicide or whatever and gets torn away from the other. The problem is then fixed somehow by some miracle. But this wasn't a movie or book. This was real life. He was a realist. There was no escape, no miracle, no magical elixir to fix all of his issues. There was the problem and there was the acceptance to the problem.
You couldn't change nor escape fate. Blue wasn't so ignorant to ignore that. He wasn't in denial of this. He viewed hope as lying to yourself, unless there was actually a chance in the first place. But this? This was a done deal.
No miracles, no exceptions.
Now Blue must decide how he would spend and cherish these next five days with the other boy. -
POOTAHTO IM SORRY I WAS SO f---Ing BUSY TODAY
His breathing hitched a few seconds after hugging the boy, his face was burning. This time, however, it was not out of embarassment or sheepishness. It was out of pure despair. To see Blue go, it would pull him apart. He felt as though he was going to barf, but he would not let himself let go of the other boy. Time was ticking down and down, and he would have to wait until school was over to see Blue again. That scared him the most. What if he wasn't able to see him and was left hanging by the time he would be required to make his departure? What if he couldn't let him know he cared as much as he really did? What if he was unable to tell him that he would visit as much as he possibly could?
He felt his grasp grow tighter around Blue. He felt as though he was acting clingy in a childish manner, but he didn't care. He didn't want to let him go under any circumstances. It still confused him, how he'd grown to like this person so much in such a short period of time. He always was under the impression that true love at first sight was a one in a million thing. The fact that it had come to him truly made his head spin and his heart pound.
Paxton grew excited once again, but when he realized the type of touch the hug was, he scurried off, hiding under the same chair he'd sat in a little while before. He let out a tiny ruff to assure Liam he was there, but after that, he was a quiet dog. -
ITS OKAY
Blue used this hug as a metaphor- it was all he had. This was him clinging to Liam, although he had no choice but to be pulled away. He had no power in the matter of him being pulled away from the boy he loved- or thought he did. Just today, he woke up, not believing in love. Love was stupid. It was a myth. People just faked it for popularity or to make others jealous. But this boy, this all powerful boy, had turned the tides for Blue.
Love did exist. It wasn't an act or a fake. It happened. It was pure, unexplainable chemistry between two people. They couldn't help it. It was truly falling into love. It was free falling through warm, humid air. You could hardly breathe, but you loved it- because you were falling with that other person. You'd do anything to be with them or by them or see them smile. Nothing mattered anymore- just that person. They were your lifeline, truly, your other half.
He had been unknowingly searching for Liam all of his life. And now he was here. And just five days after meeting his other half, he would be torn away. It was despair, sorry, sadness. It wasn't fair. The pendelum was off center, but Blue could do nothing. -
gah I missed you
After a couple of minutes, he peeled himself away from the other male. His eyes peered into the boy's orbs across from him, trying to find hints of emotion. He reached forward and put a hand on the boy's cheek, apologizing silently for what the other boy was enduring and being forced to go through. He held the conviction that he was going to be hurt or bullied in the center he would be going to. That thought mortified him. Blue had gone through lengths in order to protect Liam that morning. The fact that he may be unable to do the same in return made him feel as though he was choking, like the breath he had was being sucked from him.
His eyes went to the clock. Ten minutes. Ten small minutes. His arms crossed over his chest as he shook his head to keep the tears threatening to flow back behind and in hiding. He turned, letting his legs hang over the bed. Paxton whined, looking back and forth between both Blue and Liam, trying to determine who he should be comforting and if either of them were okay or just uneasy. To solve this problem, he sat in between them, staring innocently up at each boy. He yawned, resting his muzzle underneath of his paws. His tongue stuck out slightly.
