GUIDELINES ARE IMPORTANT
Hey I'll be back in like an hour or two
Liam had been chewing on a nail that was attached to his free hand. He ceased that action, pointing to a booth. The style of the hospital's cafe reminded him of a restaurant he would go to with his uncle on his good days. They would drink Oreo milkshakes and eat cheesecake, something both of them had a profound love for. He could remember the way his uncle would blow into the straw of his milkshake, forcing little splatters of whipped cream onto the table. The two would laugh and talk about everything that was going on in each other's lives.
He smiled in real time. Maybe he would start to make memories like that with Blue. It was exciting to think about. One day, he would be the one blowing into a milkshake to see the goofy look form on the other boy's face. He would be the one ordering raspberry laced cheesecake in hopes of giving it to the other. They would be the one's talking about their days and what they wanted to do at a later time. He blushed slightly, shaking himself free of the hopes that were appearing over and over. -
They are very
And aight
Blue slid into the booth, pointing to the chalkboards that were on the wall. "Let's figure out before they want before we go up there. They make food really quickly here, and I don't want to keep them waiting." The chalkboards had foods for all kinds of dietary restrictions. For those with diseases, for those on low calorie diets, for those on gluten free diets, and even for vegetarian and vegans. He smiled a little, glad they had a vegetarian menu, as he knew Liam was a vegetarian. Blue, himself, hardly ate meat, as he always found it gross as a child, and his blood type signaled he was best off eating little meat anyways. He opted for a gluten free vegetarian chili, as it sounded appealing to Blue by the way it was described on the menu.
He sat back, waiting for Liam to choose what to order before going up to the ordering station. He glanced at the table they were sitting in front of, making sure they had all the condiments they needed. "Oh, make sure you get something to drink, too." Blue said with a grin, deciding quickly he was going to get an iced tea. It wasn't a hard decision- Iced tea and lemonade was his favorite beverages, even since childhood. -
bACK
hallo
Liam nodded, peering over at the vegetarian menu. Something he'd always enjoyed greatly was pasta, pasta, pasta! When he noticed he could have spaghetti and veggie balls, he was ecstatic. He clapped once in excitement. After being told to do so, he pondered what to get to drink. Tapping on his chin, he went down the list of options. It was soon obvious to himself what he desired...chocolate milk! This particular pair was something he'd begged for for dinner almost every day for a month when he was ten years old. His mother had always complied, assuming it was just a phase that the young boy was going through.
Paxton curled up beside Liam, sniffing the multitude of aromas meeting his nose. He knew what was coming. Usually, his owner was kind enough to slid him some of the food he was eating at whatever time. This made he canine's tail wag happily. He rested his head on Liam's lap, closing his eyes contently. Liam stroked his fur as he stared at Blue, giving a bob of the head to signify that he had chosen exactly what he wanted. He just wondered how he would get it across to either the waiter or waitress. Perhaps they could bring menu and he would be able to point. -
Hallo
Also I hate hands
Like drawing them I dot actually hate my limbs
Blue hadn't even considered how Liam would order until then. "Erm.. I'll ask for a pen and paper. I'm sure they have plenty of people with issues talking in here- it's a hospital- erm, no offense." Dumbfounded, Blue went up and asked for a pen and paper. It took the workers a bit to find them, but they did, and handed Blue the requested items. He took them, smiling in glee and thanking them. He rushed back to where they were sitting, proudly handing Liam the pen and paper. Blue was a bit sad that Liam had to write everything, since Blue didn't know sign language, but he guessed it was something he had to deal with.
Of course, there were translators around the hospital somewhere, but they weren't going to focus on someone who's visiting for a day. No, no. They had better things to do. He was almost sure there were plenty of mute and deaf patients in the hearing ward and the neuroscience ward. He had learned, from studying psychology, that some muteness was stemmed from the brain, after all. Some were plagued with temporary muteness which was generally brain related, whether it be anxiety, autism or a different disorder that caused so. Brain damage, he knew, could also cause so to happen. Blue knew all this to be true. He also knew some that were deaf were also mute, but some were able to talk, even if roughly. Blinking, Blue came back to the real world, leaning over the cafe table. -
YO I FEEL THAT
I USED TO DRAW THEM LIKE FLOWERS
Liam silently thanked him, picking up the pen and simply writing down, "Spaghetti and veggie balls with the drink being chocolate milk :)'. He passed the paper back over to the other boy, letting the pen drop next to it. Innocently staring at Blue, he grinned widely. It would be a lie to say he wasn't excited over what he'd order. After not having one of his favorite meals so such a long period, he was nearly shaking with joy. He wanted to calm down, to take a few deep breaths, but everything felt so much better than it had previously. Leaning against the plush backing of the booth, his tongue just slightly stuck out of his mouth.
He began examining the room, taking in every detail that he possibly could. He was impressed with the architecture and interior design. It was much more advanced in that sense than the hospital his uncle had been in Montana. There, the cafe was simple. White floors, black tables and chairs, some options to eat. It was nothing special. This particular dining area was, however, and he could almost see his uncle sitting at one of he tables, scarfing down food as he used to.
Before his uncle had been diagnosed with schizophrenia, he was moving up the rank to become a professional football star. In high school, he was the quarterback, and his aunt was one of the cheerleaders. It was the classic story, the highest couple. Signs and symptoms of the mental illness had started then. Subtle irrational thoughts like the other team was listening in one their plays was something that was often disregarded or focused on as though it was a joke. He'd have times where he was so worried that he would hardly be able to function, but they passed it off as anxiety. Liam shook his head, scolding himself for thinking so much about the man when he was supposed to be having a relatively good time.
He turned back to Blue, extending his arms as he stretched himself out. His goofy smile was there, lit up for the world to see. He looked genuinely overjoyed. -
I HATE THEM
And I always avoid them but now in this picture I have to ugh XP
I did hands when I drew Juuzou x Uta from Tokyo Ghoul too :/
Blue went up to the ordering stand, saying the following, "Erm, yes, I'll have a medium bowl of the gluten free veggie chili and a large lemonade. Also an order of the spaghetti and veggie meatballs and chocolate milk." The woman who was ordering, a young blond girl, likely a teenager like himself, nodded and put the order in the computer in front of her. She explained the order would be up briefly and asked for a name. "Uh, yes. Blue." He smiled to her, walking back to the booth and sliding into it.
He looked to Liam, saying the orders had been completed. The pad of paper and pen still lay in front of them, and Blue stared at it. He wondered if they'd want it back- Not that he planned to steal it, he did plan to give it back. He just wondered if they'd request it back. Blue supposed so, it didn't seem like the brightly colored hospital cafe had stocks and stocks of pens and pads of paper at their disposal. It had taken the blonde girl a while to find one, anyways.
His mind went on about five directions at the same time. What was this emotion he was feeling towards Liam? Want, need, love? Was want even an emotion, was need an emotion? Another direction. How was the food here? He was starving. How long would it take to cook. Another direction. What was Liam's mom like? Was she nice? How old was she? No, Blue, that's taboo. Different direction. Where were Jaune and Rouge? Were they still talking to the doctors- about what? Where was his mom, how was she? Final and most worrying direction. How did he do on his MRI, did he have permanent brain damage from the suicide attempt? Was his hypersomnia and depression getting worse and apparent on his scan? He nibbled his lips. -
ohhh Tokyo ghoul
sorry sadly had to shop
Liam pulled his legs up, sitting criss cross applesauce in the booth. He thanked Blue, staring at him with his big eyes. He kept the gaze this time, and did not want to break it. He liked eye contact most of the time, it was trusting and made Liam feel stronger connected to whomever he was spending time with. With Blue, however, every time he did so, butterflies fluttered around, bouncing against every part of his stomach. The boy once again, for the umpteenth time, grinned like the Cheshire cat in a childish, cutesy way. His hands rubbed together. He was a teeny tiny bit cold and that aided him in warming up.
He'd always been the type to grow cold rather quickly. He could distinctly recall when they'd moved to Montana. He always had to be bundled up underneath of a layer of a long sleeved shirt, a sweatshirt, and a jacket. It was the only way to keep himself cozy and comfortable. Here was a bit of a different story. The coat he usually wore was unnecessary and all he needed was his long tees.
Paxton shook himself out, leaning up on the table as well. It was almost as though you could say, "Like owner, like puppy". Both individuals were nearly in the same position, their attention held on the other boy. -
Ye Tokyo ghoul
Is okay I needed to sleep
After about ten minutes of maintaining eye contact with Liam- which felt like merely a few seconds, Blue's name was called. Liam's order was the first up, and Blue trotted over to Liam with his food. Blue also grabbed his meal, exciting for the large glass off tea he was recieving. Blue headed back to the table with his own order after he had set Liam's down. He put the tray he had received onto the table, sliding in opposite of Liam yet again. He was excited for the chili, but if did seem rather hot yet. Waiting for the chili to cool down, he stirred it with his spoon and put a straw in his drink. He began to sip on his drink, which was sweet, just as the boy liked it. Both hands maintained busy. One with stirring the chili and the other with fiddling with the straw wrapper.
He raised his eyebrows to Liam when he took his first sip, chuckling quietly. After he had downed about half the glass of tea, Blue spooned some chili into his mouth, blowing on it before delivering it into his mouth. He was immediately impressed by the flavors that had entered his mouth. It was of medium spice, and the tomatoes and beans kept the texture quite even as well. They contrasted well. He began to wonder if they cooked it to order or preheated it. Perhaps a bit of both? Stumped, Blue's face fluctuated a little. -
it was good when I watched it x)
Good x9
Liam searched through the spaghetti, making sure there were no obnoxious chunks of tomato, onion, or basil. When he concluded that the coast was clear, he picked up his fork, spinning spaghetti noodles onto the spikes with intense focus. When there was a decent amount of it on the utensil, he brought it to his mouth and pulled it in. One of them was too long, so he was forced to suck it in. Liam may not have been the most careful eater, but he tried his best to keep his area clean. A few spots of sauce tainted an area on his nose, but he didn't realize it.
He went about eating the spaghetti with the most idiotic grin across his face. He was slightly self conscious. The only bits of information Blue had most likely received about him was the things he learned in the question game, and the fact that he was always excited for some reason. He swallowed his spaghetti, taking a gulp of his chocolate milk. He sighed. It pulled him right back to the kitchen table, his mother giggling and wiping his face clean every now and again. It was sweet to think about. He continued to eat as he thought about this precious memory. -

Ye ye it is good
Ah sorry homework
Blue was finished with his meal very quickly, alternating between spooning chili into his mouth and sipping iced tea. After he was done with the chili, he had a small amount of iced tea left he planned to drink as Liam finished his meal. Blue wasn't a fan of hospital food, but he had to admit, this hospital served good, worthwhile food. He would have to inform the blond girl at the stand she had an account she could put a charge on. It wasn't a nice thing to have a food account at the hospital, it showed he was a frequent visitor. This realization dismayed Blue a bit, and he frowned for a moment at the thought, staring at the table. However, the boy realized Liam was sitting across from him, and immediately perked up at that thought. He smiled a little, glancing up to the mute boy. His face was a light pink as he grabbed Liam's hand from under the table and rubbed his palm with his thumb. He tilted his head a little.
Damn, it all was happening so quickly. It hurt his head a little, he couldn't wrap around how one could feel an emotion that they hadn't thought existed about someone else within a day. But he was enjoying it. For the first time since he was diagnosed with hypersomnia and moderate depression at age seven, he was enjoying life. For the first time in eight years he saw the light, and Liam was that light. Now, now. Liam wasn't the answer to his problems at all, but he was giving him a will to fight he didn't have before. He gave Blue a reason. -
all's well
Liam's face flushed as he felt the other boy grab his hand. What he did sent his ears burning and his eyes glazed over in pure happiness. He could feel his fingers clenching around the other boy's thumb, but he stopped himself, just allowing Blue to do as he pleased. He scarfed down the rest of his spaghetti, fishing for a napkin with his free hand. The sixteen year old began to feel around and wipe whatever sauce was on his face. He missed his mother doing that for him. He was a bit of a mama's boy in that sense.
Paxton was a bit annoyed at the fact that he hadn't been offered any food, and he puffed an angry breath of air out of his wet nose, leaning against the wall that the booth was built along. Liam was attempting desperately to calm himself to the point that his face wouldn't be burning up in the way that it was. The way Blue made him feel was enticing and magical. He felt as though he would be the one he spent his life with, or at least a very long time. All the time he'd spent reading fairytales and listening to his father's countless stories about his mother and his love excursions. It gave him something to believe in, something to hold onto. His eyes were wide with the beauty he was finding hidden behind his thoughts. He didn't have to write anything down for Blue to know who he was and if the other boy accepted him. It went unsaid and that made him want to cry out in pure joy. -
Ok ok good
Blue let go of the other's hand as Liam finished his food, gulping down the rest of the tea. He signaled with a quick cock of his head that he was going to go pay, and stood, stretching out his arms. Blue was glad to be in clothes again, he had changed after his MRI. Hospital dresses made him uncomfortable. He loved the feel of the cotton against his skin, as well as the denim against his legs that his jeans were made of. He walked to the counter, informing the blond waitress he would need to put a charge on his account. She nodded, asking the account number.
"3589O." He informed her, confirming it was O as in the letter. From what he had seen, every account number had a series of four letters or more and then a single number. Apparently, at age seven, they had many people with accounts already. Amused at this thought, he walked back to the table.
"Ready?" He asked, sliding his long hands into his large pockets. Blue hadn't wanted Liam to leave, but neither of them had a choice. Blue had an EEG due in a few hours, and still had homework. Liam likely had homework as well, and his mother wanted him back. Speaking of mothers, what was his doing? Didn't she get off her shift twenty minutes ago? Why hadn't he texted her? Alarmed by this odd realization, Blue turned towards the clock to check the time. -
homework sucks
Liam finished the last of his chocolate milk, sliding out of the booth with Paxton following suit. He stood next to Blue, his mind flooding with ideas about his father's whereabouts. It was beginning to grow closer and closer to the time in which the man would find him in order to bring him home. It crossed Liam's mind that his mother had most likely prepared dinner for the family. She would probably not be too happy that he'd eaten. He shrugged at the idea, turning to Blue and mouthing another thank you to the boy. He folded his hands to wait for the other to guide the way to the room.
He secretly hoped that he'd be alright without him at the hospital. He felt terrible for having to leave in the first place. If he was given a choice, and was completely permitted to skip school and the work attached to it, he would stay with Blue for as long as humanly possible. He would give him anything he needed, try to communicate as well as he could, comfort him whenever the time called. He would be there for him. Shaking his head, he brought his thumb up to nibble on the nail.
The idea that he'd be leaving soon kept pestering him, but not just for the reason of having to leave Blue. He knew, once he was alone, he'd have to face everything.
