Calanthe went back upstairs and sat on her bed. Artemis followed. "I can't believe he kissed my cheek Artemis. It felt like sparks between us.". Artemis purred and jumped on the bed and Calanthe groomed him.

Riley tried to keep focus, but kept thinking about the spark he'd felt when he kissed Calanthe's cheek. He looked around but didn't see her so he teleaported to her bedroom door. He went to knock but dropped his hand. He paced in front of the door trying to think of what to say when he dropped his bag, with a thump noise.

Calanthe heard footsteps infront of her door, She walked quietly and peeked through the secret peephole. "Riley" She whispered. She opened her door quietly and smiled at the pacing Riley infront of her. "Are you follwing me?" She asked.

Riley looked up, slightly flustered. "W-well.. uhm... I... th-that's my job" he said and rubbed the back of his neck. "I'm... I didn't mean to..." he sighed "I'll just go" he said.

"No, Wait." Calanthe said grabbing his hand. "It's okay. I was joking. I saw you earlier flipping someone off. Who was it?" She asked.

Riley looked back at her as sparks ran up his hand. "An old friend." he said as he loked at her.

"What happened? If you don't mind of me asking?" She asked pulling him into the room. She sat down with Artemis.

"Nothing, we just grew apart. She didn't want me to take my sister's place as your guardian, so we stopped talking" he shrugged, but really he missed Karai. She was his best friend.

"Aww, I'm so sorry. She probably misses you too." Calanthe said. "So that means I had a lot of people watching over me?" She asked also.

"My family has watched over you since you were a baby" he said. "Because of the attack earlier, the-... Karai was sent as backup, in case, but it's usually just me"

"The....What?" Calanthe was confused. "Is something bad gonna happen to me?" She asked. She was kind of worried. She got up and went outside to get some air. Artemis followed by her side.

Riley followed her, he walked next to her. "Hey" he said gently. "Look at me"

She sighed and looked at the view from outside. She turned her head and looked him in the eyes.

He dared another step towards her and touched her cheek. "As long as I'm here, I won't let anything happen to you" he said as he looked her in the eyes

"Woah. Why do you have to use you're charm on me?" Calanthe thought. She felt sparks between them as he touch her cheek. "Are you gonna protect me forever?" she asked.
