He had already made a glass of milk and poured it into a cup he designated at his and grabbed his box, placing it on the counter next to the cup. He sighed lightly, knowing that earlier one of his friends asked him if he was going to the dance, but he didn't answer. "Why is that dance so f---ing important?" He knew no one would give him an actual reply to that but it was worth a shot.
-
"Maybe if you went you'd find out," said a Bitten as she walked in. She smiled sweetly at him, then walked over to the fridge. "I mean, why not go? It's the perfect time to try something new," she said, ending up much closer to him than to the fridge. She slowly turned him around, forcing him back against the counter.
"You never know, you might have a great time," she said, leaning into him.
Just as she was about to kiss him, Nora walked in. "Well, looks like I'm interrupting something," she said, looking a bit disgusted. She turned and left, heading to the main hall instead. She could eat with the other students. -
Alex blushed deeply and pushed the girl away, grabbing his cup and box of sweets as he stalked off, now wasn't the time he needed to deal with Eleanor nor that girl. He started to walk out onto the law and he sat down under a tree, sulking a bit. He really wanted to either thank her for interrupting what might of happened or asked her if she was getting into his food. He started munching on a cookie while thinking of what to do.
-
She walked through the growing darkness to the cafeteria, where she figured she'd get something to eat. However, when she arrived, she discovered that it was where the dance would be held. Students were already preparing for it, which meant that she wasn't allowed in. She took her time heading back, and eventually realized that the academy was far enough removed from any community big enough to block out the stars. She stopped, looking up at the twinkling skies above her.
-
He glanced around and finally looked up, trying to see if he could see a constellation or something. He looked out of the corner of his eye and saw someone stand in the court yard, he stood up and walked over, leaving his snacks and half of his milk near the tree. He got closer and saw it was Eleanor, which also reminded him that he had to thank her. "Hey Eleanor." He got close enough for her to hear him. "Hey I um...wanted to thank you even though you probably weren't trying to help me back there with that girl." He scratched tge back of his head nervously. "So...thanks."
-
She shrugged. "You don't need to thank me, I was just looking for something to eat. Sorry if I was interrupting something." Nora sniffed the air, realizing that beyond the type-O human were a few of the cookies he'd made. Ugh, why were they so good? She was tempted to ask for some, but she had to stay strong.
-
He shook his head lightly. "You weren't interrupting anything really. The girl was sadly being a bit too hasty." He rubbed the back of his neck. "You wanna come sit with me? You kinda look hungry." He chuckled. "Sorry had to, but it's kinda the least I can do for you saving my ass from that chick." He was hoping she'd be alright with eating with him, although she was probably the one getting into his sweets.
-
"I appreciate the offer, but I don't think you'd want that. I mean, you're more of a snack to me than anything over there." It was an awkward truth, but sitting with him would've been even more so. She gave him a grateful but bitterly honest smile, then headed back to their dorm building. Nora was glad that they could at least be... on pleasant enough terms.
-
She might have been right, but he wasn't going to give up that easily. "Eleanor wait." He caught up with her before she got to the dorms doors. "Please, look I'm sorry, that joke wasn't right and yeah you could suck the blood out of me in a literal heartbeat." He coughed, cursing at himself for making another joke. "Sorry again, I want to on better terms, cause you are kinda stuck with me as a human lab partner and that probably sucks more than anything."
-
"I... I really shouldn't. You have no idea how much trouble we'd be in. I have to go." She hurried off, this time using her supernaturally fast speed to get away. Was he really this willing after everything she'd done to ensure he hated her? She'd failed and, if his behavior continued, he'd probably be one of the Bitten by the next summer.
-
He would have went after her again, but he thought against it. He sighed and walked into the dorms, taking the elevator up to his room and dodging people that were already there. He got to his room and closed the door behind him. "That was a nice way to make things awkward..." he shook his head and walked over to his bed, sitting down on the edge as he thought of what else he probably said wrong to her and thought of how he really did want to be...friends with her.
-
She passed the kitchen and headed up to her dorm. The vampire had really lost her appetite. What was with him practically offering himself up, anyway? That was what they did to Purebloods, not the Bitten. She was confused and perhaps even a bit worried.
She spent the night reading, then helped Willow and Jenna prepare for the dance. Jenna was a Pureblood from one of the highest families, but was more of an accident. Because she wasn't planned, she had free reign over most of her life and could date a Bitten if she desired. The couple had gone dress shopping together and, surprise! picked out a dress for Nora as well. At first, she refused to wear it. But after some gentle persuasion, they managed to get her into it. -
Alex was still in his room, just waiting for the night to be over with, he literally wanted to replay things over, but time travel wasn't possible so. He stood up and walked out of his room finally, glad he might have the dorm common room and kitchen to himself. He walked past a few girls and guys that came with him, a few of them with Bitten people with them, but he just waved. He walked into the common room and picked up a controller as he started to play some type of fighting game he never played before.
-
Just as the human sat down, a Pureblood and one of her friends walked into the dorms. The two appeared to be ready for the dance, but while one seemed to be calm and concerned, the other close to enraged.
"Ugh, where is he?" she snarled, looking around the room expectantly. She'd invited one of the humans as her date, though he was mostly meant to be a snack for the group in case they grew peckish. The worried one gestured to Alex, seeming to suggest that they try to invite him instead. Besides, blood was blood, and that was all the humans would be there for.
The furious Pureblood regained her composure and walked over, sitting on the arm of the couch next to the boy. "So," she purred, "why aren't you at the party already? I mean, someone like you..."
Even though he knew it was fake, the human had to be somewhat interested, right?
Nora had to admit, the dress was gorgeous. It fit her perfectly in all the right places, and could be considered even a bit... badass. She tried to hide her growing excitement as she and her friends headed over, taking a back door out of the dorm building. It didn't take long for them to arrive at the dance. -
He sighed lightly and paused the game, looking at her with a bored expression. "Look lady, I'm not in the mood for your little thing here. I'm not interested in going to the party nor am I even interested in dealing with you." He was a bit pissed at the moment that this vampire was coming onto him, he didn't want to deal with her or really any vampire at the moment. "I don't care what your status is you're not going to get me to go to your stupid little dance." He turned back to the screen and unpaused the game, ready for the girl to snap.
