She returned to her dorm, too distracted to continue her organizing. She settled on her bed, not bothering to reach for the book she'd been reading on her way back to the school. Willow, who was now on her laptop, seemed to notice. "Something wrong?" she asked.
She should've been able to share. Her roommate would've definitely understood. But it was hard to voice. So with a sigh, she replied, "It's nothing." -
He finally found his schedule and grinned, most of them were easy classes, physics was one of the classes he excelled in next to any thing, but sadly he was getting assigned a partner in the class, which bothered him slightly. What if his partner went for his neck...? He shook his head, not wanting to deal with that thought. He glanced over his schedule again before he heard his stomach growl. Food sounded really nice, but he needed to take off the bandage. He took off the wrap slowly, not noticing it was still bleeding.
-
"Did you know that the humans are staying in this dorm building?" Willow asked.
Nora nodded. "Yeah, the Purebloods refuse to have them. So here we are, the Bitten, mingling with the Mortals." She sighed. The Purebloods, vampire society's highest, hated the roommates' kind. Once, they'd been good enough as companions, though more of pets than actual friends. But after one mistake in feeding, they were suddenly pests, only good for a snack at most. Sure, some had managed to find a place within the upper class, but it was uncommon and frowned upon. The fact that the Mortals may be held above the Bitten didn't sit easily with Nora. -
Alex was grumbling as he searched through most of his thing, trying to make his room like home. He finally found his laptop and smiled, the poor thing was covered in stickers and was dropped so much the dents were truly visable. He opened it up and started scrolling though his files, still not noticing his arm was still bleeding.
-
Eventually, she decided she needed a snack. She was kind of curious about what the humans would have to eat, and if she would be allowed to eat it as well. Most of the Bitten still enjoyed it, though even the healthiest of foods lacked nutritional value for them. The Purebloods, on the other hand, couldn't stand human foods. Perhaps there would be some in the common room's kitchen? She'd have to look.
-
Alex walked out of his room, after being bored surfing the net and hearing his stomach growl for food, and found himself trying to find the kitchen. He glancrd around the halls and waved at a few other human students that were in the dorm area, but when he found the kitchen area he spotted the girl from earlier, causing a frown to form.
-
She found a huge bag of chips and started to pour some into a bowl. Nora had always loved salty foods when she was human, and they were the majority of the few snacks she'd actually eaten throughout her immortal life. She put away the bag and grabbed the bowl, taking one of the largest chips and putting it in her mouth. She didn't think anyone else would be in the building's personal kitchen, expecting them to be over at the cafeteria instead. She definitely didn't expect the human from earlier to be the only other one using the space, but there he was. Her mouth stuffed with chip, which she quickly chewed and swallowed, she analyzed the situation and the boy's attitude. Her attention quickly switched to the chip, however, as it tasted nothing like what she remembered. She held the bowl out to him. "You're mortal, do you want these? You don't have to compare their taste to the original."
She set the bowl back down and walked over to the fridge, opening it to look for a bag of blood. -
Alex walked over to the bowl of chips and glanced at the girl. "What are you looking for...?" He took a few chips from the bowl and started eating them, not really wanting a big meal right now. He winced lightly and glanced down at his arm, covering up the inside of his arm. "s---."
-
"Blood." Of course, she'd already noticed that he was bleeding, but she was very much aware that drinking directly from the humans was against the rules. Besides, she knew how to avoid the cravings, after living amongst them for so many years. But now that he'd noticed... It was much harder to ignore. She set the bag that she'd retrieved on the counter, watching his arm with piqued interest.
-
He glanced up at her and pulled down his sleeve trying to stop the bleeding. He looked down at the bag, wondering who it came from out of from the group he was with. "So what's your story? How did you end up to be..." he waved his hand at her. "Like this?"
-
That question was seriously uncalled for. They didn't even know each other, and he was asking her how she'd been turned? She glared at him. "I don't want to talk about it. And..." She raised the bag to her nose, sniffing it. "This is yours. You should probably clean up your arm before some idiot decides you'd make a good snack. Some of the others can be pretty... vicious."
Before he could say anything more, she left the kitchen and headed for the stairs. -
He watched her walk off and he sighed. "That's a nice first impression Alexander." He shook his head and grabbed the bowl of chips, cleaning up his arm and stopping the bleeding. He then proceeded to go back to his room, slightly disturbed knowing the girl was going to drink his blood.
-
She punctured the package as soon as she was back upstairs. Willow looked offended. "You didn't grab any for me?"
Nora shook her head. "I... I met the human it came from, while I was downstairs. It was awkward enough to take this, let alone grab another bag."
Her roommate sighed, and went back to browsing. As the blonde bit into the bag, she found herself pleasantly surprised. He was her favorite: type O. Maybe she should've helped with his arm... no. That sort of drinking was uncivilized and, really, a bit gross. -
He sat in his room alone, opening his laptop to play a round of chess online, hoping that maybe it would take his mind off of the girl and his blood. He smiled a bit as he played knowing the outcome of what would happen before most of his opponents even noticed. He was glad the bleeding stopped on his arm as he started thinking about the other humans.
-
(think we could time skip? also, he might want to become nocturnal, for the sake of school)
After finishing the blood, she reached for her book and finally got back to reading. It was an interesting story that she'd picked up from a small bookstore, and one of the first fiction books she'd read in a while. It was hard to put down when problematic humans weren't plaguing her thoughts. Eventually, Willow got up to grab some food downstairs.
