After a moment of silence between the two, he cupped his hands around hers. He had never gotten this far in a relationship with someone, simply because he wasn't ever very interested in any girl he'd met. "But maybe you would have been safer, now that I think of it. I know that I'm putting you at risk. I'm not saying I regret... Meeting you, those are just my thoughts."
-
"I would defiantly be safer. I mean, this is a pirate ship. I just, wouldn't be happier, Philip." She gave him a small smile, raising one on her hands to rest against his. It was strange, her affection for this man. Misplaced, maybe, but it was there.
-
"I think that makes sense." He said softly before leaning down to kiss her. He let his feelings for her pour into it, careful, but not too soft.
-
Janette kissed him back, moving her hands from his to wrap her arms around his neck, pulling him closer yet.
-
Philip slid his arms down to her waist where he held on, close to his body. "I love you, Janette." He mumbled hinder the kiss.
-
The brunette responded by deepening the kiss, tilting her head so that their lips fitted together like two pieces of a puzzle.

A sudden knock at the door startled him, but didn't interrupt as he pulled away slowly. "Captain, there's another ship. We're thinking it's a cargo, but we're not sure. It just pulled up and stopped with out anyone coming out... Yet." A crew member called out, most likely a younger one. Philip gave her one last peck on the cheek, his lips lightly brushing the skin. "I'll be back soon." He said before walking away. -
Janette let out a small noise of distress, hating to have him pulled away from her every time they started to connect like this. It was horrible.
She sighed, though, and undressed, trying on the green and white dress, glad to find that it fit perfectly. However, she had something else in mind. She traded it for the short blue and white dress, cream colored leggings, and a pair of Philip's boots, that were just a little too big. She then took one of his spare swords, and after wrapping a piece of leather around her waist, tucked it there, glad to find that it fitted her nicely. If she was going to be with a pirate for the next nine months, she might as well act like one.
Pleased with her outfit, she left the cabin, going onto the deck. -
Philip helped the crew get ready so that he and some of the men could check the ship. At the sound of footsteps, Philip turned around to find Janette out. "I was hoping you'd stay in the cabin." He grabbed an old sword from an old, wooden container, shoving it into a sheath in his belt.
-
She huffed, shrugging, resting a hand on her hip. "I'm not going to stay there every single time you're called away, Philip. I'm not a little girl. I can handle myself up here."
-
An older crew mate walked by, slowing down to catch a bit of the conversation. "I know, Janette. I just don't want anything to happen to you." He turned to the man, Robert, who had slowed down. "Robert, don't you think so?" He shrugged, glancing between the two, and scurried off. "All ready, Captain." Called Eric. "Although, I'll let you go just to see. But as soon as something happens, you come back to the ship using that plank." He pointed to a thick peice of wood lying between the two ships.
-
"I can handle myself," She repeated, and nodded, kissing him on the cheek when he agreed to let her go. "Can I keep the sword, then? And the boots? Until I get my own," She added, smiling at him, and, before he could answer, murmured a quick, "God, I love you, Philip."
-
"Mm, love you too, Janette." He smiled down at her. The thought of putting his child and her in danger pain him, knowing it was a risk, a small one though. One by one, men started to cross the plank, carefully. Soon, Philip slipped his hand in Janette's, and lead her to the other ship.
-
Janette followed him, peering at the other ship, keeping her free hand on her sword hilt. She knew how to use it, from playing with the boys in her village with wooden ones.
-
The first few men jumped down, and unsheathed their swords. Philip did the same after helping Janette down. While boxes when strewn about, the ship did seem eerily quiet with no one around. The crew members branched out, exploring different areas.
