((Aggh I had the whole reply typed out and then my phone crashed :'c
Antonio stuck out his lip, giving the Italian ringmaster a pout for a split second. He knew it was a little silly to ignore the crowd, but they weren't really watching him anyway.
The Spaniard was entirely sure of why he tried to show off to Lovino so much. The Italian was actually younger than him, despite being the ringmaster, and had never really had any good friends within the circus. He'd joined the circus only a few months before, so the only things he knew about why Lovino was leading so young was information he got from rumors. He'd heard that the boy's parents had just up and left one day with his kid brother, and Lovino had decided to stay with the circus. These rumors made Antonio want to bring a smile to the Italian's face rather constantly, so he was always coming up with new tricks.
After showing off a pout for a moment, Antonio turned around to face backwards. The crowd gasped, Gorro's trunk straightening out like an even sidewalk. The elephant ran slower, and Antonio could tell that the creature was nervous- it was a maneuver that they'd never preformed before, only practiced. Nevertheless, Antonio began a slow, even walk forward. -
booo crashing phones are no fun)
Lovino blushed and looked down as Antonio shot him a small pout before turning away from him. The young Italianfelt a little guilty, but pushed it away, reminding himself it was all probably part of the act. A collective gasp from the crowd immediately drew his gaze back up to Antonio, who was walking out along the larger elephant's neck as casually as if he was strolling down the street. Lovino let out a small gasp of his own. He'd never seen this trick before, and it was obvious that the elephant was getting anxious. "Dammit, I told him not to try anything to dangerous..." Lovino muttered to himself. Antonio was still fairly high above the ground, definitely high enough to get hurt if he fell. -
Antonio was trying to be careful, whilst hiding his own nervousness with a wide stage grin. Every person in the audience was staring at him with wide eyes or had them hidden behind their hands. Finally, the Spanaird was as far as he could go, just above Gorro's tail. He looked back at Maira, who he'd hoped would have gotten with the program by then, but she was still running with her trunk in an S. Antonio was stuck standing on the male elephant, clicking his tongue and gesturing with his hands for Maira.
-
Lovino's eyes widened again as he saw the smaller of the two elephants running, seeming unsure. The audience may not have noticed yet, but Lovino knew something was wrong. He but hip lip and muttered a few curses at the Spainiard. Why couldn't he have used the same old tricks? The ones he knew that worked? Feeling rather helpless, Lovino was tempted to cover his eyes like many of the anxious crowd members.

(It crashed again omfg I'm sorry these replies are taking forever I have an old phone)
Antonio, after a few seconds of trying the urger the elephant into stretching out a pathway for him, morosely decided that the trick was hopeless. He knew he should of practiced it more, but he really had wanted to impress Lovino. Deciding it was his only option besides jumping off and risking serious injury, he turned around and followed his steps back to Gorro's head. There, he sat down on his neck, and with a pat on his ear got the elephant slowed down enough to where Antonio could get Gorro kneeled down to let the Spaniard off.
Following that disaster of a trick, the elephants showed off the usual things. They balanced on their two front legs. They stepped onto pedestals to hold rubber balls. They sprayed water into the air. Antonio thought they were old news, but settled to grin and wave through it. Once time was up, he led the animals out of the tent to go back to their wagons. -
No it's fine seriously X3)
Lovino felt a wave a relief wash over him. He really thought that Spanish idiot would be dumb enough to jump off for a moment. After watching the usual tricks go off without a hitch, pleasing both the children and adults in the crowd, he slipped out of the tent and headed around the back, hoping to meet Antonio. He wasn't really sure why, maybe he would yell at him for risking something like that. But then, Antonio was probably already feeling bad about, he wouldn't want to make things worse...He told himself he should turn around, but his feet kept going, carrying him straight towards where Antonio would lead the elephants away from the performance. -
Antonio was leading the elephants out like usual. Elephants were very social animals, and when they walked together in a line, they liked to cling onto the tails of the elephant in front of them with their trunks. So Gorro was holding Maira's tail, and Maira was trying her best to get a grasp on the closest thing to an elephant tail that Antonio had, his hair. Her trunk was barely able to pinch onto it, but she held onto it anyway. The trainer hardly cared, too focused on how Lovino must have noticed that he'd messed up his trick.
-
The young Italian spotted Antonio and he sped up a bit, stopping when he was in front of the Spainiard. A million things to say flashed through his mind: 'What were you thinking?' 'I'm glad you didn't fall' 'Good job' 'you scared me for a second' However, none of them found their way past his lips, and he managed an oh-so-intelligent "Hi."
-
Antonio was a little suprised when Lovino was suddenly in front of him, stopping his forward progress towards the wagons. The elephants stopped as well, patiently standing where they were. "Hi, Lovino, do you need something?" He asked. Usually, Lovino didn't talk to him unless Antonio initiated a conversation.
-
"I, um.." He hesitated, blushing slightly in embarrassment. He rarely struck up a conversation with anyone, and he didn't know what he wanted to say. "You...did well." He finally said quietly, glancing at the elephants to avoid Antonio's curious eyes.
-
The Spaniard shuffled his feet in a little unsure movement. He couldn't tell if Lovino was being sarcastic with the comment, or if he was actually trying to be nice. "Uhm... Well, the elephants weren't really ready for it. They need more practice.." He shrugged, reaching up to pet Maira's trunk that was still grasping his hair. "It was my fault."
-
Lovino quickly shook his head, his face burning. He could tell all he'd done was make the situation awkward. Antonio always made conversations with him so naturally. He made everything look so easy. "It wasn't your fault." He said quietly. Lovino finally realized how close he was to the two elephants and he looked up at Maira, tentatively reaching a hand out. He paused, glancing at Antonio. "Can I..?"
-
Antonio blinked at Lovino's outstretched hand. It was nice to see the crowd interested in the elephants, but it felt like something else altogether for Lovino to want to touch one. "Sure, sure!" He nodded, digging his hand between his hair and Maira's trunk so that she'd let go. He then gently led her trunk downwards, so that it was closer to his waist and easier to reach.
-
Lovino's outstretched fingers reached Maira's trunk and stroked it softly. Lovino was captuvated by just how gentle the enormous creatures were. The skin of her trunk was leathery but still smooth, and Lovino smiled a little. "I've never been this close," He explained softly.
-
Antonio had his eyes locked on Lovino to see his reaction, and his heart jumped when the Italian smiled. The elephant trainer grinned, "Yah? You should visit them more, I think she likes you," he commented, his eyes still locked on the ringleader.
