(Aye stranger)
Melanie blushed quite a bit too and she shook her head. A blush looked odd on her face since it was usually pale and she looked away. "No, no, it's fine," she stated.
"What's fine?" Morgan questioned while walking back into the cave, a dead rabbit in his hand. -
"My style of cooking. Simply toss the rabbit in the fire and I won't let it burn." He smiled.
-
Morgan gave the two an odd look and he took a seat near the fire. "Alright," Morgan said, carelessly tossing the rabbit body into the fire.
-
"Perfect!" Damien yelled. He expertly manipulated the shadows in the fire to butcher the rabbit when it was tossed, and now left the three pieces turning on a rotisary.
-
"Hmm," Morgan said, watching Damien work. "Nice."
Melanie stayed quiet. The scene with her and Damien earlier stuck out in her mind. She didn't know why it bugged her so much, no, maybe it didn't bug her. Maybe she liked him back?
No, no, he couldn't like her. She was a cutter! Mentally unstable! A troubled girl! Someone as sweet and nice as Damien couldn't like Melanie. -
Damien was lucky he didn't screw up his little cooking show as he remembered what he just did. [Perhaps I do like her... that'd explain my unusual character near her...] He thought, [Maybe I'll ask her about it.]
-
Melanie cleared her throat and she slowly stood up, off balance. "I'm going to... go for a walk," she said softly and distantly while she walked towards the entrance of the cave.
"I'll go with you," Morgan spoke up.
"No," Melanie said quickly and sharply. She took a deep breath and regained her thoughts. "I-I wanna go alone. I'll be fine." -
"Are you sure?" Damien asked, setting the cooked food in the hands of each of them. "They might be looking for us. At least one of us should go with you."
-
Melanie could feel the panic setting in her stomach, the anxiety, horrible things turned inside her. The cave was too small all of a sudden. It reminded her of the room, the room. The small room! She had to get out of there.
She shook her head and she walked out of the cave. her heart was pounding, and her breaths became short. Slowly, her hands started to go numb, she hated these feelings, but she couldn't stop the flashes of memories from entering her mind. "I'll be fine," she called back. -
"I hope so..." Damien mumbled as Melanie stumbled out. "I suppose we should eat then find her.
-
Morgan sighed and he took a bite out of his food. "I've been worried about her," he states. "Even before we were taken to that hellhole."
Melanie stumbled and headed towards the forest, her breaths came quicker and quicker and pure panic was setting inside her. -
"She was doing fine, but looked around panick stricken... perhaps clostrophobia?"
-
"We played hide and seek all the time when we were younger, she hid under the bathroom sink one time, I don't think-" Morgan started but he stopped. He thought for a second. "Unless those b------s did something to her, made her scared of more things. But still, that doesn't make sense when she was fine last night... f--- I don't know. "
-
"I'm done, never really eat much. You can have the rest. I'll start looking for Melanie. Eventually we'll figure out what triggers here panick attacks." Damien said handing over a quarter of his food, then getting up to leave.
-
Morgan sighed and he felt like throwing the meat against the wall, but he didn't. Food was food, so he didn't want it to go to waste.
Melanie sat on the ground, her knees pulled up against her chest and her head on her knees. She tried to stifle her cries, she wanted to stop crying, but she had to admit it made her feel a little better. The memories didn't go. She wonders how Morgan and Damien where handling things so well, they seemed fine!
