"Melanie! Melanie!" Damien yelled, hoping for an answer. Hoping he'd have the chance to tell her what he wanted. He went around a path and saw Melanie curled up crying. "Melanie. Are you okay?" He rushed to her hugging her again, but intentionally this time.

Melanie wasn't expecting Damien to hug her, but she didn't object either. She leaned against Damien and hid her face in his chest. She was violently shaking and she tried really hard to stifle her sobs. The last person to see her cry was Morgan, and that was a while ago. "I want it to stop," she said quietly. "I want it all to stop. I don't want this anymore," she whispered.

Damien hugged her tighter and stroked her hair. "Sh... It's okay. Morgan and I will protect you. We'll end this nightmare. Okay? For now just hush..."

His words really were soothing, but she still shook. She tried to take deep breaths, but they ended up being to quick and sharp. "H-How do you do it?" she questioned softly. -
Damien sighed, "I'm not sure myself... I have always been really quite and scared, but I found something different about myself when we were just talking. I found a sense of security and something I didn't know until now. I, uh... I think I like you, Melanie. More than just a friend I mean..." He blushed, but hugged her a little tighter.

Melanie couldn't believe what she was hearing. Damien saying that he liked her? She never thought that he would actually like her back... She slowly moved her head off of his chest and her puffy red eyes looked into his. "Really?" she stuttered.

Damien paused, then made a bold move. He leaned down and quickly kissed her. "Really."

She was taken by surprise when Damien did this. She wasn't shaking anymore, nor was she blushing. Something came over her; shivers were sent up her spine. She wrapped her arms around his neck and gave him kiss which hardly lasted longer than the one he had given her.

"I promise I'll never let anything happen to you." He smiled, "Come on. We should get Morgan and be on our way." He said, helping Melanie up.

Melanie sniffled a little and she nodded her head. She wiped a few tears away from her eyes and she turned towards the cave. "You know Morgan is going to murder you when he finds out," Melanie states.

Damien laughed. "Can he catch a shadow?" He hopped up on the ledge that went to the entrance, "Should we tell him right away though?"

Melanie gave him a look that asked him 'Are you crazy?' She shook her head. "No, he's strong enough to bend a shadow," she said while crossing her arms.

"Hey, I said teleporting long distances is strenuous. Short ones are nothing." He smirked. "That look you gave me, yes, I'm a lunatic. Somewhat reckless with myself." Damien laughed more, teleported on top of a tree, and then jumped. He teleported and landed next to Melanie just before hitting the ground.

Melanie let out a high pitched scream when Damien did that and she covered her mouth after a few seconds she took her hands away from her mouth and hit Damien on the arm. "Damien!" she shouted. "Don't do that!"

"Okay. I'm sorry. Sure you don't wanna try it with me? You seemed scared even though that tree's only a 10 ft sapling." He teased.
