"Out.." He repeated slowly. He looked down at the floor, staring at the few puddles of blood he saw. It scared him to realize just how bad their situation was. He looked back up, following her. "What're we going in here for? Do you need different clothes or something?"
-
She nodded. There was no way she'd escape in the hospital-assigned clothing. She needed normal human clothes. She lifted the badge and sniffed it, then did her best to trace the scent to a locker. Of course, the room was putrid with smells her nurse was certainly unaware of. After two years of nothing but the scents of animal blood, Lucas, and the showering areas, the sudden rush was a bit sickening. She quickly swiped the badge through the scanner on the locker door, and pulled it open. She stripped in the center of the aisle and pulled on the nurse's casual clothing.
-
Lucas followed her, unsure of what to say or do. He hadn't fully understood what was going on to begin with. How had this happened? He wasn't sure he was with the motion of so many vampires being let out, even though he thought holding them back like they had been doing was cruel. One moment, he had been doing his job. Working with Jenny as he normally did. The next, vampires were out, and many of the workers were.. Dead. It was like a dream, but real. He put a hand to his head, upset.
-
Jenny left the locker room and joined Lucas, dressed in the nurse's street clothes. "We... we need to get out of here," she told him, grabbing his hand and pulling him towards where she figured the exit was. There was no way she was getting caught and blamed for any of this.
-
Lucas blinked as he was pulled in some direction. If she wanted the exit, he knew where it was. He started to charge ahead, going in a different direction than the one they had been going in. "Agreed," he murmured softy.

(Can we time skip to them being at home after this?)
She followed him, realizing he knew how to get out better than she did. It was strange to actually see more of the building than the short stretch of hallway visible from the cells and the showering stations in between them. The clothing felt weird, too, compared to the standard hospital gowns of the past two years. They left the lab before authorities arrived, which Jenny was thankful for. She tried not to think of all of the nurses killed, trying to avoid acknowledging the fact that her freedom was laden with guilt. -
(Sure. But I'm slightly confused. Are we doing it during this post or during my next post?)

(Your next one.)

(Alright, cool.)
The air seemed to be different when they got outside. He wasn't sure if he'd call it fresh, but it was nicer. Lucas noticed that there were a few dead guards on the floor, and come cars were missing. It was likely that there were't any remaining vampires out and about, based on the silence other than the obnoxious siren. He had no other choice but to take Jenny home with him, it seemed. The sirens of the authorities could be heard in the distance. If they saw him with Jenny, they'd both be in trouble. Big time. "We really need to leave..." -
She nodded, and was silent the entire way. Not only had things changed slightly, but she was unfamiliar with the urban area. The short trip consisted entirely of her following him. This wasn't what she thought freedom would feel like. Instead of feeling happy, she was burdened by fear, guilt, and loneliness. Sure, she had Lucas, but he didn't understand like the other vampires did. It was something he probably never would comprehend, and the sooner she got used to that, the better.
-
By the time they got to Lucas's house, he was worn out. Not entirely physically tired, but more like mentally tired. He couldn't comprehend the situation past the fact that vampires were free. They were out and about, probably causing terror with humans, and yet.. He looked to Jenny, who was at his side. He knew he didn't mind vampires, but here he was, an ally with one of them. A female, at that. Slightly embarrassed on that note, he yanked his keys lose from his belt, opening the door. "Sorry about the walk, Jenny. I, ah.. My car was getting fixed. It's a good thing no one questioned us, huh?" Lucas wasn't sure what she would consider good, but he said it anyway. When the door had finally been unlocked, he pushed the door open, slowly looking up at her. "Um.. Ladies first."
-
He was definitely a strange human. It seemed that he didn't know what to do with himself most of the time. Then again, neither had she when she was mortal. And why was he talking to her like that? He tried to appear confident, but his voice implied anxiety. He smelled anxious as well, though that was the case with almost every human. Was it just the way he talked? She could eliminate some of his nervousness, though her methods might just make things worse.
Jenny stepped into the small apartment and looked around. There was no way he had a family. The building was too small, and only smelled of him. It was easy to hide her disappointment as she waited for him to lead her somewhere. -
Lucas followed Jenny in, closing the door behind him. He went to close the window curtains beside the front door, worried that someone would ask about her if they saw her through the window. As his hands clutched the soft fabric and tugged them close, he let out a soft sigh, looking back at her. Now, all of his panic was coming in, and he was unsure of what to do. He had no access to the blood that was back at the lab, and he knew that there would be cops at his door as some point. Upon seeing the scene, they would look for a list of each scientist and vampire that had been at the facility. He was probably the only survivor, and he knew they'd suspect him of knowing about the attack as to how he got away. But his major concern was not being able to feed Jenny.. At least, not with animal blood. "Welcome to my home. I, um.. I hope you like it here. I'll show you around, it's pretty big for a guy that lives alone."

(She is 100 years older than the age at which I put her)
"It must be lonely," she said, glancing back at him. it was said in a manner that suggested it must be fact, as if she were stating the obvious instead of feeling sympathetic. Then again, she couldn't really judge his loneliness, given the fact that she hadn't made the effort to speak at all until recently. But that was different. It was a precaution for the sake of judgement; there was no reason to force loneliness upon oneself for the sake ofbetter judgement. She was drawn from her thoughts as the curtains were pulled shut. Jenny turned to face Lucas. "Thank you for closing those. Sunlight is very irritating at times."
