He was unsure how to respond at first, wondering if it was just an empty sort of offer, that he woukd get a phone number but never be answered if he called. "Uhm... Sure? I mean.." He fumbled for words, trying to think if he had anywhere to write down any contact information. "I don't have pens or anything in my house. Can I give you my number if you have your cell phone with you?"
-
His stomach did a flip once he pulled his cellular device from his pocket. "I have got it right here." He gave a few swipes to his phone, making it to the "Create a Contact" option in a matter of a about six seconds. He assumed that Cole was going to tell him due to the circumstances.
The last time he had gotten somebody's number, outside of the movies he had taken part in, was two years before. He sighed, remembering that was the relationship he had to keep hidden, and the one that ended just for that reason. He had made the decision to come out a year later, but nothing ever came of it. -
Once Chase had confirmed he had the phone, Cole gave him a few seconds to do what he needed to do before relaying his information.
"Okay, the number is 314, 544, 7279. But it's not a texting number, you can only call it. I'll usually pick up," he said, though it was probably obvious that he could do no texting. -
Chase had to go over the number a few times, but once he was positive that he had it down, he thanked Cole. Typing the numbers in one by one, his eyes occasionally glanced around the room. He liked being in the company of someone...so normal. Someone who wasn't so celebrity.
The last time he had been so regular was long before he started acting in films and television programs. He longed to return back to those days. The days when he could walk out of the house and not be bombarded by questions and camera flashes. -
Cole shuffled his feet once Chase thanked him for the number, figuring that it meant he was going to leave then. Which, for some reason, Cole found a bit upsetting. In a way, he'd almost grown to be a bit fond of Chase, his celebrity hero and dog catcher.
"I guess you've got to go now, huh?" He asked, his hand reaching out to hold the doorway. "You can call me whenever." -
Muhahaha the cab left. xD
"Yeah, sadly. I will, you can count on that." He knew for a fact that he would be calling Cole when he got the chance. He would take it at anytime, just to take a break from his stupid show that he couldn't quit because of a very-binding, complicated contract. That was probably what frustration.
"I shall see you sometime soon." He was debating whether or not to try and give him a handshake. -
Silly cabbie cx
"Okay," Cole smiled, nodding slightly. It was somewhat enjoyable, and definitely different, to be developing some sort of fruendship besides his sibling and pet. "Goodbye for now, then," he breathed. The blind man ended up initiating the handshake, by holding his hand out in the air in Chase's general direction. -
x3 Indeed.
Chase seemed elated when he saw the extended hand. He firmly took hold of it, shaking his hand kindly. Suddenly, the beginning of "Little Talks" by Of Monsters and Men rang out, sounding into the apartment. Chase sighed, and fished his phone from his pocket. Seeing who it was, he immediately declined the call, very much aware that he should be at the studio. -
-
Cole's head tilted at the music, his hand slipping away from the other and falling back to his side. It took him a moment to recognize the song as a ringtone, rather than just a spontaneous playing of a pop song. When the heard the music stop with a beep without Chase answering it, he worried that the actor had hung up on an important call.
"You should probably call them back, shouldn't you?" Being an actor, he assumed any phone call would be important. "I've got to feed Rosco anyway." He took a step sideways, into his apartment. It was true, as he could hear the dog's nails clapping as he walked around in the kitchen. That meant Rosco would be sniffing around for something to eat, because otherwise, the dog didn't like walking on the cold linoleum floors in the kitchen. -
((Ooh candy cane c:
-
x3 Always candy canes.
/and dude dude dude i fixed my computer's internet so longer responses now/
Chase put thought into the question. Should he call them back? If he were to do so, he would most likely be mouthed off to and yelled at to hop in a cab and get his ass to the studio. If he did not call them back, however, his manager would sit him down and repeat the entire contract to him, and would then prevent him from doing any leisure activity for at least a week. It was almost as though he was on a very short chain that could be broken at anytime. More so, like a teenager being controlled by an overpowering, Hollywood mother.
Seeing as Cole would be busy with Rosco, he pulled his device back out, slamming his finger down on various numbers. He listened to the rings, and once a voice sounded out, he jumped. It was much louder than he had been expecting.
"CHASE. Get your damn ass back to the studio! We're waiting, here! We're supposed to be doing the next scene to close up this episode. The f--- you think you are, skipping out on the first ten minutes?" Chase attempted to explain why he had been late and where he was, but he was repeatedly cut off by the man. He leaned against the wall, and in an insipid manner, listened to the ramblings. -
Ooh yay~ I'm still on my phone. So my thumbs will work hard for long responses cx
The sound of beeping to the tone of phone buttons being dialed told Cole that Chase was calling the person back, so the blind man worked his way into the apartment. He counted his steps- from the door way, it's ten strides to the opposite wall, where he'd put his hand and guide himself to the right until the wall was interrupted by the kitchen doorway. Free of a door, of course, because that would only get in the way.
Rosco rushed to circle at his legs as soon as he stepped into the kitchen, so he took the dog by the vest and the hungry thing was hurrying right to the cabinet under the sink. Cole bent down, opened it up, and revealed what it was that Rosco had been waiting for. It was a food bowl, one of those automated ones that once the bowl was empty, just refilled itself. So it was already full, and the dog went right to eating. -
just don't break them ;^;
As expected, he was told to be at the studio as soon as possible. This came with. a very, very believable threat that he would be written off of the program if he did not. With a final, "Come the f--- on, Chase," the call ended abruptly, with Chase panicking just a little, internally. He stated rather loudly to make sure Cole heard, "Erm, I really have to go, I promise I will talk to you soon.."
He put one foot outside of the door when he noticed the tiny message notification blinking repeatedly. He pulled the drop bar down, a bit astonished upon seeing seven messages from his manager, Lyle, all of which being completely frantic and just somewhat rude.
He chose to wait for a response just to be sure that Cole would be okay. As he did so, his mind wandered to the flurry of worries taking over. What if he was being serious about writing him off? Damn it, his reputation would be ruined. The headlines, they would be horrible. Chase, Breaking Her Walls, No More?! What did the celebrity do to be fired? Find out inside! -
Cole finally got the chance to set his grocery bag down on the counter. He let go of Rosco, letting the dog eat, while he took things out of the grocery bag and set them down next to the sink. Oat cereal (no milk, he hated pouring that), a bag of mandarin oranges, seven bananas, and potato chips. All things relatively easy to eat, with no preparation. Since he couldn't tell most of these things apart in the store, one of the workers would always help him pick his things out from the back room, which always meant he got the freshest stuff that was newly shipped in.
"Alright, go ahead. Talk to you later," he replied to Chase.
