Cameron didn't know what to do with the weapon in his hand. If he got to close, the other guy would get him first. He'd heard you could throw knives at people and hit them; so he did, and it harmlessly bounced off of the man. Cameron squeaked, holding his hands out as if to protect himself.

Sorry! I didn't see that you'd posted.)
Just as the man raised his own knife, the sound of footsteps was heard. After banishing him, Marcus' father and the other men had left, leaving Marcus just enough time to run back to Cameron and tackle the man just as he was about to swing the knife down. The man let out a strangled growl and tried to swipe the knife at Marcus. He grabbed the man's wrist and tried to wrestle the weapon out of his grip. -
Cameron stared at the struggle for a moment, not sure what to do with himself; should he run for it, or help Marcus out? He glanced around hurriedly, and spotted the knife he'd thrown lying on the ground. Rushing to pick it up, he jabbed it into the man's stomach without a second thought.
-
Hearing the man cry out, Marcus scrambled away from the man, watching him go limp as blood began to pour from a wound on his stomach. He looked up at Cameron and nodded gratefully. "Thanks." He bent down and wrenched the knife from the man's grasp, holding it out to him. "Here, in case you need it again."
-
Cameron swallowed looking at the bloodied weapon. Hesitantly, and with his thumb and one finger, he took the dagger. He held the hilt in his fist and bent down to wipe the blood off in the dirt. Once finished, he stood back up straight and looked at Marcus. "Okay. You lead the way again."
-
Marcus nodded. "When we stop to rest, I'm teaching you how to use that." He said, gesturing to the now-clean knife as he began to walk through the trees. He might not always be able to protect Cameron, so he'd need to be able to protect himself somehow.
-
Cameron followed Marcus closely, warily glancing behind them every few seconds. If those tribes people really wanted him dead, he was afraid of them returning. Or, at least, to avenge their friend. "Alright," Cameron agreed, tucking the dagger away in its sheath.
-
Marucus kept walking, glad Cameron hadn't argued. He glanced at the sky and frowned a bit. It was getting dark, they wouldn't be able to travel much longer. It was fdangerous at night at he knew Cameron wouldn't be much good in a fight.
-
After they'd walked for a bit, it was starting to get colder and colder. Cameron still had no shirt, so he put his hands over bare sections of his arms to rub and keep warm. "Where are we going to rest?" He asked.
-
Marcus turned and saw how cold he looked. "We can rest now if you'd like." He set his pack down and took off his fur jacket. He had multiple layers on anyway, and he didn't want to see Cameron in any discomfort. He held the jacket out to him with a small smile. "Take it, you need it more than I do."
-
Cameron sat down as soon as Marcus set down his pack, the Dragon boy laying his own down on the ground beside him. His legs ached from walking and running so much and he had no desire to continue. Looking at the jacket, he had no hesitation to take it, but he did to put in on. Wings still on, there wasn't much he could do with it. He set down the jacket for a moment, meticulously going to work with unstrapping the leather from his arms and chest.
-
"Do you want help?" Marcus asked. He bent down and picked up a few dry twigs. They would be good to make a fire with, maybe that would warm them both up. He set to work gathering more twigs and soon enough had a small pile. He dug a piece of flint out of his back and struck it, causing a small flame to burst to life.
-
"No, that's alright." By the time Marcus had returned to spark the fire up, Cameron had removed the contraptions from his body and neatly folded them on the ground. The leather straps had left red indents where they'd been- after all, he only ever took them off to bathe. He pulled the jacket on, watching the fire kindle to life.
-
"Get a little closer, you're cold. I don't want you getting sick." He blushed lightly. "I mean, it'd just slow us down." He said, sitting down by the fire with a light sigh.
