He quickly turned. "What, what is it?" He saw Cameron looking up and glanced up as well, seeing the girl. Her hair was a full spectrum of colors, sort of like Cameron's own hair.
-
The girl glided herself smoothly to the ground after jumping from the tree. "Cam, Herigo sent me, he said you have to come home. Where are your wings? Why are you walking? Who are you!" She quickly changed her attention, fluttering over to be right in front of Marcus. "Are you kidnapping Cam?"
-
Marcus took a step back and raised an eyebrow at the energetic girl. "I'm not kidnapping anybody. Cameron's wings are broken. I'm helping him."
-
The girl giggled. "You're getting a villager to help you? I'll bring your wings back--" "No, that's fine, I can take care of it. You need to get home before someone sees you," Cameron stated. The girl pouted, but flew back up to the tree, sitting down and facing away.
-
Marcus frowned and glanced at Cameron. "She could help. If she brought your wings back you could go back home." He looked up at the girl. "This could be the only opportunity you get."
-
Cameron stared at the girl, who seemed to not be moving from her spot. "I don't want other people touching mine. They might make it worse.." He sighed, and yelled up, "Erin! Go back, and return with two extra pairs. Have someone else come with you, if you have to." The girl hopped off the tree, fluttering away without another word.
-
"Two...?" Marcus looked at Cameron, clearly confused.
-
Cameron nodded, looking back at Marcus. "You saved me and got banished for it.. Now I owe you."
-
Marcus blushed and shook his head, touched by his thoughtfulness. "Thank you, really, but you...your people wouldn't accept me..."
-
"I should hope they will..." Cameron murmured. He hadn't though of that; no outsider had ever tried to join the Dragon tribe. "You don't seem stupid so maybe they'll like you."
-
"Yeah, hopefully..." Marcus trailed off. "Should we just make camp again and wait then?"
-
Cameron thought for a moment, then nodded. "You get some rest this time."
-
Marcus hesitated, but decided not too argue. "Thanks." He settled down and closed his eyes. He was really exausted, though he'd never have admitted it.
-
Cameron wanted to make sure Marcus got the rest he surely needed, so he silently sat down on the ground beside a tree, keeping his eyes and ears open.
-
Marcus sighed and quickly drifted off, snoring quietly slightly. His pack lay beside him on the ground.
