Silver skidded to a stop at the top of the stairs. "You first~" she said. She liked sliding. She found that she wasn't quite so depressed with Scarlet around.
-
Scarlet smiled and leapt onto the railing, sliding down. She laughed loudly, her hair blowing behind her a bit. She hopped off at the bottom, landing on her feet with a grin. "That was fun!"
-
Silver slid down once Scarlet had reached the bottom, coming to stand beside her, giggling. "Come on, the back yard is this way." She said, grabbing Scarlet's hand and pulling her towards the door and outside.
-
Scarlet ran after the taller girl eagerly. When they came outside she squealed excitedly. "Ooh, ooh, look!" She pointed excitedly at the horizon, where the first crack of light could be seen shining through the trees. Dew stuck to the grass from the night's storm, and the rays of early sunlight make the patch of green blades sparkle.
-
Silver nodded. "Wait until the lake starts to get the suns reflection~" she grinned, sitting down on the deck.
-
Scarlet plopped down beside her and snuggled into her side with an innocent smile. She glanced up at Silver, looking a bit naive before looking back out at the yard. Her eyes widened as the beams of light hit the lake. The rippling waters danced and shimmered under the sun.
-
Silver smiled. "That's my favorite part of the sunrise and the sunset. Isn't it beautiful?"
-
Scarlet nodded and leaned her head on Silver's shoulder. Being the naive little neko she was she didn't see anything wrong with what she was doing. Silver was her friend after all.
-
Silver stiffened for a second but then relaxed. She felt comfort in having Scarlet trust her. She smiled as the sun continued to rise. "Scarlet..." she trailed off. She didn't know quite how to thank her.
-
Scarlet's eyes darted back up to look at Silver's face. They were awfully close; Scarlet could clearly see her pretty gray eyes.
-
Silver bit her lip. "T-thank you... for... basically saving my life." She didn't know why she was nervous. They were just friends... right?
-
Scarlet smiled sweetly. "And thank you for saving mine." She gestured to the bandages still around her midsection. "If it hadn't been for you I'd probably be dead or captured right now."
-
Silver smiled. "I guessed we saved each other." She was really grateful that she had found Scarlet.
-
Scarlet nodded, and feeling a burst of boldness, leaned out and pecked Silver on the cheek.
-
Silver blushed. She wasn't expecting that... but she didn't move any farther from Scarlet, even though they were so close their noses were almost touching.
