"Good! Now do the same thing, except with a C flat..." Silver speed her the key.

Scarlet moved her fingers to the key Silver pointed to and slowly repeated the sequence, a little more sure than last time.

"Great! Now you do the same, but with B's instead of C flat or A..." Silver showed her the next set of notes.

Each time, Scarlet followed Silver's instruction closley, a little smile on her face. It was fun learning to play, and even more fun with Silver. Every time the other girl placed her hands on Scarlet's to show her the notes she felt a little thrum of happiness.

Finally Silver had shown her the whole song. "Now, play it all together. I'm sure it'll sound fantabulous!" Silver loved music, but it felt like she loved it even more when she was doing it with Scarlet.

Scarlet smiled nervously. "O-Okay." She began to play, slowly at first but gradually picking up speed. Her fingers danced over the keys as she concentrated. Eventually she finished and looked at Silver. "How was that?"

Silver was in awe. "That was gorgeous~" she sighed dreamily. "I love that song. It's got such a deep meaning to it..."

Scarlet smiled. "Thank you! And yes, it's nice for a human song."

Silver smiled. "What do you wanna do now? We have practically everything you could think of in this house and about 5 hours until the mail comes."

Scarlet thought for a few moments. "Can we go outside?" She asked finally. It was still dark out, so maybe they could catch the sunrise. Watching the sun rise and set had always been one of Scarlet's favorite things to do.

Silver nodded. "Sure! Do you wanna take the elevator again?" She thought for a second. "Or do you wanna slide down stair railing?"

Scarlet grinned. "Sliding sounds fun!" She and her siblings used to do that when they were just little kittens. Her mother hated it, but Scarlet had always enjoyed it.

Silver nodded. "Let's goooo~" she slid across the floor in her black fuzzy socks, all the way towards the stairwell.

Scarlet scampered after her, giggling with eagerness. It was odd, for almost an entire year her life had been nothing but running and fear. With Silver it all seemed different somehow, better.
