A few hours later, Scarlet's blissful sleep was interrupted by a loud crash of thunder. It seemed to shake the whole house, and the deafening noise made her ears hurt. Suddenly lightning flashed brightly, illuminating the room for a half-second before pitching it back into total darkness. Scarlet whimpered softly. As another boom of thunder echoed, she yelped and scrambled onto the top bunk. She jumped under the covers and his there, trembling.

Silver was awoken by the sound of thunder, as well as the small, scared, neko who decided to hide from the thunder on her bunk. She sleeping wrapped her arms around Scarlet in a comforting hug. She yawned as she spoke. "Don't worry, it can't hurt us..... we're inside, plus my house has a lightning rod."

"I-It's so loud though!" She cried, cuddling up next to Silver. She pressed up against her, her ears flattened in fear and her eyes shut tight.

Silver chuckled. "The storms here don't last long, another five minutes at most." She said, cuddling back with Scarlet. She wasn't sure who she was trying to comfort anymore, Scarlet or herself.

Scarlet nodded and tried to calm down. She felt safe in Silver's arms, and the warmth from laying against the other girl helped her to relax. Slowly the storm subsided.

"See? It's over now." Silver said, wide awake. She was no longer sleepy. "Speaking of which, do you have any clue what time it is?"

Scarlet shook her head. "It's still dark out though..." She said, so it was either really late or really early.

"Yeah." Silver nodded. "Hmmm..... we're supposed to get mail today, assuming it's early morning..."

Scarlet sat up, rubbing her eyes. "Shook we get up and check?" She asked curiously.

"Nah, we can wait. But we could get up and eat something... or we could listen to music really loud in the music room! It's sound proof. Also we have a piano and multiple other instruments in there. I love to play." Silver squealed.

Scarlet hesitated. She wasn't really a fan of loud things. "What instruments do you play?" She asked, hoping to redirect the conversation.

Silver bounced lightly. "The piano, the violin, the clarinet, the bass clarinet, and a little bit of acoustic guitar. And my voice, of course. But everyone can sing." Music was another one of her few passions.

Scarlet smiled, clearly impressed. "That's a lot of different instruments!" -
(I like music~)
Silver nodded. "Do you play anything?"
