Arcelio's eyes widened and he paled slightly- he'd entirely forgotten about the mess in the bathroom. He opemed his mouth to curse, only stopping himself when after a few seconds he remembered that it was Angel that he was speaking to. He swooped her up, holding her so that her back would face the mess on the wall. "It'll get cleaned up later, I'm sorry, sweety."
-
"Okay. But you gotta clean it up." She kissed his cheek, and then snuggled into his chest. "Go see bubby?"
-
Arcelio nodded slowly, holding her steady as he made his way to the door out to the hallway. "Mhm." He slipped on his shoes, nodded a goodbye to Charlie, and then went out, shutting the door behind him.

(wrote a short thing here
It was a few days after Eliot had moved out to stay with a friend that it happened. Rayson had begged him not to, over and over and over, knowing that his older brother was all that kept his dad from seriously harming him or Janelle. He didn't listen. He just wanted out.
Rayson remembered every bit of that night, went trough it time after time after time in his dreams. Janelle coming home from Academic club, accidentally knocking a glass pot off the counter, it shattering into a million pieces on the floor. Their already-drunk dad grabbing her hair, slamming her into the fridge, once, twice, three times, and then there was blood, and Rayson was walking across the glass with bare feet, trying to get him off her, to get his hands out of his shirt, so that she could run. And he did, and she did, but their his father turned his attention onto his youngest son, snarling it his face, telling him that he had just made the biggest mistake of his life. He still had nightmares about it. Laying on his stomach in the glass, head held back by a hand ripping the hair out of his scalp, and pain. So much pain. Throbbing, burning pain. And it didn't stop, not for what seemed like hours, but every time he felt himself slipping, his forehead made contact with the hard floor, and he was snapped back into the pain.
He had never wanted to die more than right then, because he couldn't do anything to protect himself, and his father knew it. And that meant his father knew he could do it again. And Rayson knew he would. )
Angel poked at her father's cheek, giggling happy. Suddenly, though, she squirmed a bit. "Want Daaaaad." Dad being Rayson. -
(I hate Ray's dad so much wtf
Like I guess Arcelio's parents just ignored him and satisfied him throughout his childhood by buying him things.)
Arcelio frowned a little, patting her back as the elevator doors opened. "We'll see him soon, too, don't worry. Dad always comes home, right?" -
(And thus if Arcelio every asks him about his dad Rayson's just gonna get all silent)
"Mhm. But< I want Dad now," She whined, and shifted around on her feet impatiently, on the verge of a temper fit. -
Arcelio sighed. "He'll be back soon, but we can't see him right now. You've got to be good for Magnus, okay? No whining."
-
"Why can't we go see him right now, Daddy?" She pouted, tugging sadly at her father's pants leg.
-
"He's at work," Arcelio lied, as he ushered her into the elevator, and then hit the button for the main floor.
-
"I don't think I like work," She admitted, hugging his leg as the elevator when down, down, down, and then the doors open, and Angel was shrieking and jumping up and down, because, in front of then, Janelle was standing, holding a toddler on her hip, and Corrin's hand. Her face was pale, the apparent shock in her eyes. Corrin, however, was calm as every. Smoothly, he asked, "How's Ro settling in? I'm sorry it took so long, getting him back where he belonged.
-
As soon as Angel started yelping, Arcelio's first instinct was to grab her, so he swooped her up and held her with her back to the door. When he saw who it was, his eyes narrowed, but he relaxed a little and let her settle on his hip. "He's doing just fine. Having a few problems adjusting... But fine."
-
(MIA MIA MIA
Dark and I's birthday is on Friday the thirteenth and)
Janelle also relaxed, but then tensed back up when Angel started reaching for her. Corrin glanced over, sighed, and took the child. "Go to the bathroom, alright? Calm down. Breath. Cold water, darling." He watched as she left, and then turned back to Arcelio. "And.. Rayson?" -
*anniversary
-
(Wait omg no way
What are you doing to celebrate)
The elevator doors had started shutting by the time Janelle left, and so Arcelio slipped through them and stood about two feet away from Corrin. "Just fine as well. We're being a family." -
(Ha yes way
I dunno, yet. Probably a video call thing. Maybe getting each other some stuff, or what not. '
Anyways, I'm going to bed. Have a nice day or night or whatever, so as long as you're taking care of yourself!)
"Good. I'm happy. You deserve it. I.. I'm sorry about all of what's happened, Arcelio. Archer really isn't a bad man, he's just sick. Really, really sick." Corrin cleared his throat, shifting his son to his other hip, biting his lip. "This is Avery. Janelle and I's son. I have an older one, but he's.. He.. Archer killed him for helping Ro."
