Charlie inhaled a bit, not taking his eyes off Arcelio, and murmured a soft, "You look a bit like Alexander. Your eyes and your hair, anyways."
-
Arcelio blinked, then glanced between Charlie and his soup. "Yeah?" He realized his hair was still considerably messed up from when Archer had been grabbing him, and reached up to comb it back down with his fingers- same style he'd kept it in for years.
-
"Annnnd, now the hair is gone," He let out a little sigh, as if he were sad, and got up, heading into the bathroom at the same time the hotel extension went off. Snatching it up, Charlie only managed a muttered, "Hello," Before furrowing his brow, holding it out to Arcelio. "For you?"
-
Arcelio was a little... Confused, to say the least. Charlie seemed a little too dissapointed that he'd fixed his hair back up. When the other said that the phone was for him, he set the soup on the desk and reached to answer it. "Hello?"
-
(I have to go now. I'll see you tomorrow, Mia. Try and eat, and get some sleep, please.)
Rosario answered the other side of the line with a little sigh of relief. "Daddy," he said, completely dropping how mad they had been together after the mess of rushing him to the hospital. "I'm fine. It was.. I just needed that thing, that thing taken out? What's it called.. It's a bigger word. Anyways, I'm fine." -
(I did get some. I might take tonight off.)
Arcelio was more than relieved to hear Rosario on the other end, sounding safe and feeling better. "And everything's okay? All the doctors are treating you fine? I'm going to come get you as soon as I can. I promise you won't be there all night, as long as you're doing better." -
(You do that, dear. You deserve it, and most likely need it.)
"Yeah. I'm fine. Sleepy, though. They gave me stuff to kill the pain, and I- ..Hang on, Dad. Something's going on." There was a small noise made by Rosario setting the phone down, and then, after a few minutes, it was picked back up. It was Archer, not Rosario, and his voice was laced with satisfaction. "Don't bother with the trip, dear. Ro's with his dad. Don't you worry." And then the line went dead. -
(I might get off around 2 my time.)
Arcelio waited with upbeat patience while he let Rosario do whatever it was that he was doing. It didn't occur to him that something was wrong until Archer's voice come on, and then hung up on him. He almost dropped the phone, then recovered, dropping it on the reciever. Tears were welling up as he dragged his hands through his hair, pushing it backwards and turning to Charlie. "Did Ray give you any way to call him? H-he's got Ro." -
(What time is it now?)
"He called me on a payphone, Arcelio. His phone got disposed of.." He frowned, moving to awkwardly wrap his arms around the man, just for a second. "Look, we can go get him. Is there someone we can leave the little girl with? Friends? Family? Rayson didn't give me a number for him, but.. I have one for some guy named Magnus. Who's he? Could he help?" -
(Almost 11.
I think I remember who Magnus is lol i don't feel like looking back yee)
Arcelio was starting to sniffle, wiping at his eyes with the backs of his hand. He hardly even noticed that much that Charlie had hugged him. "I don't think so... Magnus? Did he?" He shuffled his feet, thinking. "I don't like Magnus, but if that's what Ray said." -
(Alright. Well, I have to fix spaghetti, so I'mma be really slow.
Magnus is Daniel's older brother, Eliot's oldest child. He's been in university this whole time.)
"You should call him. And on my cell. Archer doesn't have the number, so he can't trace it. Here." With that, Charlie handed him a slip of paper, and his phone, going to get the medical supplies ready. -
(Darn I got it wrong
Oh well let's pretend Arcelio dislikes him anyway)
Arcelio nodded, and looking between the paper and the cell, he tapped in the number. It had been a while since he'd spoken to Magnus, but it seemed it was a last resort. -
(You were thinking Corrin, maybe? Archer's right-hand man.)
Magnus picked up on the third ring, voice a muffled hello through a mouth that was clearly filled with food. -
(Probably)
Arcelio held in a sigh when Magnus answered, and he could hardly understand the man because his mouth was filled with food. "Magnus, this is Arcelio. Hello." -
(Wellp)
"Oh!" There was a pause as he chewed and swallowed his mouthful. "Just a second. Laura's in the room, I gotta go somewhere else." Another pause. Laura was his wife of two years, who was, as of recent, pregnant with a son.
Magnus finally spoke when he was alone. "Something happened with Daniel or Angel? You'd better have a hell of a good reason for calling me." Magnus hated Arcelio about twice as much, because he blamed him for getting his father killed, and would have cut off all contact, had it not been for him younger siblings.
