Again, the boy shook his head, but was unable to tell Arcelio what his father had done with actual words, until he remembered the term Arcelio had used the day he had almost died. "He.. He made me.. He made me h-have sex with him," Rosario paused, swallowing hard, "I-It hurts."
-
Arcelio was silent for a solid minute, glaring at the table. It sounded like Rosario was talking about Rayson. It really did. But there was no way that could be the case, because Rayson would never, had never, done that. "Rayson?" He finally questioned again.
-
Rosario could do nothing but nod, knowing full and well that Arcelio didn't believe him. Without a word, he stood- Shakily, but true- And walked down the hall to Daniel's empty room, slamming the door, dropping onto the bed. Beside him was a night stand with one of the house phones on it, and, he stared at it for a moment before recalling to his head the one number he knew.
Without a second thought, he picked up the phone, and dialed Drake's number. -
Arcelio, though he of course was worrying about Rosario, was frozen on the couch. The boy had nodded in confirmation, but it couldn't be true, couldn't be. Rayson would never, never hurt Rosario, and he would never force someone to have sex with him, and he would never want to do it with anyone but Arcelio... Right? Realizing that it could all be wrong, Arcelio went to the fridge, plucked out a beer, and went back to his own bedroom to gather himself.
Drake was in his room, taking a nap, when he heard the phone start ringing. He groaned a little, but sat up, managing to answer it within the first four rings. "Hello?" -
Rosario inhaled at Drake's voice, taking a minute to find his words. "Hey. Hey, it's Rosario. The kid who passed out on the street? I was.. I need somewhere to stay tonight, and maybe tomorrow? And I don't know anyone else, so I was wondering if.. If you wouldn't mind? I know it's late. But I really can't stay here."
-
(
rude people being rude to dark wtf rude people)
Arcelio was crying by the time he was sitting on his bed, his back against the headboard. He was sitting on his side of it, one hand on Rayson's pillow and the other holding the beer that was already one fourth gone. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to do then, so he just sat there and sipped at his beer.
Drake was quiet for a second, thinking. He remembered Rosario well, but he needed to decide if it was okay if he stayed. "Yeah, sure," he answered. "Do you want me to pick you up?" -
(I know sigh
But I try not to get involved bc was straight up told that I didn't need to fight her battles)
"Please? That'd be great. I'll be outside in like, five minutes. Thank you so, so much." He hung up, sighing a bit, heading into the bathroom that adjoined Angel's room to Daniel's. He brushed his hair into some sort of less-mess, used a wet rag to get rid of the blood and come, and then, after digging around, found some jeans and a button up that hung off his frame dangerously. -
(Sigh okay)
Upon being hung up on, Daniel went downstairs, told his dad what he was doing, and then out to his bike. Getting it started, he started the ride to Rosario's house (he magically knows where it is hush).
As Arcelio was sniffling, and half done with his beer, he heard Rosario rustling around in the bathroom. It was then that he realized he'd forgotten about helping his son clean up, so he got up, and went to the door of Daniel's room because by then he could hear Rosario getting dressed in there. He knocked, "Ro? Can I come in?" -
(really wants to take a switchblade to certain people though at times
and it's drake not daniel)
"No," He snapped, his voice regaining all the cold hatred he had for Archer, turning it on Arcelio. He had a bag with some spare clothes now, and slung it over his shoulder, opening the door, pushing past the man, heading to leave. "I'm gonna go stay with a friend," He called over his shoulder as he opened the door, relaxing at the sound of an approaching Harley. -
(I know the feeling
Ugh darn I meant that)
Arcelio jumped a little when the door opened, and he had to hold the beer a little tighter to keep from dropping it when Rosario went past him. "B-but, Ro, you can't leave," he said, but he wasn't sounding very authoritative. He followed the boy to the front door, staying about a foot behind him. "Please stay, I need you to stay here, I can't lose you again."
Drake stopped at the house, noticing as he pulled into the drive that he could see both Rosario and his- no, not dad, Arcelio, in the doorway. He got off the bike, and tucked the helmet under his arm. As he hurried up to the porch, he saw Arcelio was holding a beer and his eyes narrowed. "Rosario! You alright?" -
Ignoring Arcelio, Rosario continued walking until he was next to the older boy, smiling weakly up at him. "I'll tell you when we get to your place. He's just drunk. Let's go." He slipped an arm through on of Drake's, ignoring the face that he hardly knew him.
-
As Drake turned around, and began to lead Rosario away from the upset man in the house, he jumped at the sudden sound of shattering glass. Looking quickly behind him, he saw Arcelio had thrown the bottle of beer on the porch, either clearly not aiming at them or, as indicated by Rosario, too drunk to realize how badly he'd aimed. The man screamed, "I just wanted a f---ing family, Ro! I thought I had a family and now you're just leaving!" This just made Drake start walking again, a little faster, taking the helmet from under his arm and handing it to Rosario when they reached the bike. He heard the front door slam, and knew that Arcelio must have gone back inside.
-
Rosario took the helmet, putting it on, pulling the screen down to not only keep the wind out of his eyes, but keep his tears hidden. He swung his leg over the side of the bike after Drake had gotten on, hoping that the older boy didn't notice his extremely loud gasp of pain, wrapping his arms around the waist that seemed to be much firmer and warmer than his own.
-
Drake knew that in the situation Rosario seemed to be in, he would be pretty upset. He thought he heard a gasp, and assumed this meant that the boy behind him was crying, so he gave the smaller one's hand a pat before he used both of his own to get driving back to his place.
Back in the house, Arcelio was sobbing, pulling two more Millers out of the fridge. The house was empty, Rayson was apparently a cheating child rapist, Daniel's safety was in question, Angel was with her untrustworthy brother, and Rosario- Rosario had just run off with that mystery guy from earlier. -
The boy stayed completely silent the whole way to Drake's house, only muttering a faint, "Here," as he handed him the helmet, and fixed his bag. His legs and hips were throbbing now, dully, and his stitches were also bothering him. In truth, he just wanted to lay down and sleep.
(gonna go to bed. Night, Mia. See you tomorrow.)
