Rayson was already sobbing, even though it clearly pained him to do so. He hardly noticed the pen as Archer sat the no longer breathing child on the ground, giving Rayson a pat on the head, before turning to leave. He shut the door behind himself, leaving Rayson and his lover alone.
The older man was in hysterics- Hiccuping sobs that shook his whole body, as he moved to cradle the little blonde against his chest, rocking her. He didn't even seem to see Arcelio.
The younger shook his head, moving his eyes to stare into the dark void past the light of the hallway. "I just want to sleep, honestly. Never been much of an eater." -
Arcelio was in a devastated trance as Archer set down his little girl, unmoving, and then left without a word. He stayed where he was until Rayson was moving towards Angel. Suddenly, he dove forward, grabbing his shirt and pushing him none too gently away. "Leave her alone!" And yelled, slipping back to her to lift her up, sitting cross-legged on the ground with her in his lap. "Oh, my baby, my baby," he whispered to her limp form, "Daddy's sorry."
Drake stopped, looked back at him for a second, then shrugged. "Alright. Upstairs then. I guess you remember where it is but I'll show you anyway." He hurried to the stairs, going up them one by one. -
The blond was a bit shocked when Arcelio shoved him away, but he stayed back, trying to calm himself down. Finally, he found his voice, though it still hurt to talk. It hurt so, so much. "A-Archer.. R-Ro.. H-He.. He raped him, a-and used s-something s-so that R-Ro would think i-it was.. Was m-me.. O-Oh, God, Arch.. Angel.."
Rosario followed him, a bit slower, and just kind of dropped onto the bed as soon as he saw it, burrowing into the covers, his eyes fluttering shut. He was absolutely exhausted. -
Arcelio wiped away tears from hisbown eyes as he held Angel steady with his other arm. He didn't pay Rayson a glance while he answered. "Ro said it was you, he said it was y-you and I know Archer doesn't have a f---ing voice changer or some s---, and he probably saw you too, Ray it's all just bulls---."
Drake looked at Rosario in the bed, already seeming to be going to sleep, and smiled a little. The boy seemed rather small and fragile, but Drake thought of it fondly while he went through his closet for a sleeping bag. -
"Oh, God, Archelio.. I-I would never.. He did.. I was o-out. I-I wouldn't have hurt him.. I wouldn't have.. Wouldn't have. Oh, God." He was sobbing again, knowing that if Archelio didn't believe him, Rosario would never. Without a word, he stood up, heading to the bathroom, closing and locking the door behind him.
Rosario didn't have dreams. He had nightmares. Nightmares that made him wake in a cold sweat, scrambling for breath, body throbbing with dull phantom aches. And right now, he was having one. One of his mother, the little he remembered her. It had been the only time Rayon had ever hit her- She was yelling, throwing things, screaming and crying, and cussing, and he just slapped her. Just once. Nice and hard, right across the face. He remembered her stumbling back, eyes wide, spinning on her heel for the door. Rosario had been a toddler, and Rayson hadn't even bothered to look at him as he left. -
Arcelio ignored him, paying attention to the little girl in his arms. She was gone, he was sure, as he'd been holding three of his fingers to her neck for at least and minute and felt nothing at all. After a good five minutes of Rayson being in the bathroom and Arcelio holding Angel, the dadk haired man stood and, still desperately cradling her in his arms, went to the locked bathroom door. "R-Rayson, is she dead?" He asked, wiggling the doorknob.
When Drake came back out from his closet, holding a blue lump of sleeping bag, he noticed Rosario seemed to have fallen asleep a little distressed. He set the bag down on the floor next to the bed, and went up beside Rosario, gently touching his hair. "Ro?" He whispered. -
Rayson didn't answer for a moment, and rummaged around in the cabinet before opening the door. He nodded, just once, and then muttered a soft, "Magnus and his wife, too," Before brushing past Arcelio, grabbing a towel to press to his bloody wrist. It was something he hadn't done since he had gotten away from his father, but he needed it now, and he still had razors, so he didn't really care what Arcelio thought of him.
Rosario snapped awake at his name, shoulders jolting. "Oh- ..Oh. Um. Yeah?" -
Even when he heard this, Arcelio couldn't bring himself to set Angel down. He followed Rayson, keeping his arms tight around his daughter. He watched Rayson push a towel on his wrist, and he shuffled his feet, starting to move away again.
Drake smiled down at Ro, sitting down on the floor with his back against the bed. "Just making sure you were doing alright." -
After the bleeding stopped, Rayson turned back to Arcelio, his throat wasn't as sore as before. "You have to listen, okay? I was out, for at least three hours, and I woke up, and Archer was talking about what he did. He used a voice filter on a little microphone chip, I think, we used to use them.. Anyways, he.. He tole me that he had altered it to where he would sound like me, and.. And he told me what he had done. Please, Arcelio. Think. Why would I ever hurt my baby?"
"I'm.. Fine. Oh. Oh, you're not sleeping on the floor, idiot.." Rosario sighed, moving closer to the wall, patting the bed beside him. "'Mon." -
Arcelio looked down at Angel, starting to brush his fingers around in her hair. "I-I don't know," he mumbled, shrugging. The more that he thought about it, the more he realized that he probably sounded stupid for believing it. "I'm sorry..."
Drake looked over the edge of the bed, raising an eyebrow. He hadn't been sure if Rosario would really be comfortable sleeping in the same bed as him, but if he was... Drake nodded, getting up and crawling to lay next to Ro with about a foot of space between them. -
"Because I wouldn't. Arcelio, where is he? Archer said he disappeared from where I was.. And.. God, I need to tell him. Does he think it was me?"
Rosario was, in fact, tense- But this was Drake's house, so he tried to be a normal kid and share the bed. -
"He's..." Arcelio swallowed, trying not to sob because he knew he'd sound stupid. "He's at a friend's house."
Drake was careful not to disturb Rosario, facing the other side of the room and closing his eyes. "Wake me up if y'need anything." -
Rayson sighed a bit, and took Angel's limp body from Arcelio's arm, standing. "Look. I.. I'll be right back. Don't go anywhere, okay? I'm going to go put her in the basement, until we can get her somewhere proper. Alright? I want you to go lay down. Okay?" Without waiting for a reply, he took his daughter down, putting her on the air hockey table, covering her with a blanket. Then, he returned to Arcelio, holding out a hand. "We should sleep. Archer just wanted to mess us up. He did a damn good job, too."
Rosario mumbled a reply, and again, drifted off. Soon, though, he ended up rolling over in his sleep, snuggling into Drake's backside, his legs wrapping around the older's.
(oooo rooooo no spooning on the first date you bad doy) -
Arcelio hadn't moved much while Rayson was gone, only crossed his arms and tilted back and forth on his heels. When he returned, he grabbed Rayson's hand. "Mhm. Mhm."
Drake wasn't quite as tired as Rosario, so when the other was snuggling up to him he was still awake. He'd never thought of himself as being the little spoon, but it was actually quite comfortable, so he let it go on. -
Rayson hesitated, but then pulled Arcelio into a tight hug, kissing the top of his head, swaying. "He killed our baby girl, Arch.. How're we gonna tell Danny? What're we gonna do?"
Rosario stayed that way until the early hours of the morning, in which he stirred and, embarrassed, pulled away from Drake, laying in silence for three hours until the son came up.
