Vivian sprang out of the water with a cry, at the same time the singing of the whale stopped. She knocking Jake back and on top of him. Her eyes, instead of a blue/green were now a color of a bright summers day. She cupped his face in her hands and locked eyes with him. Her whole body was healed but her heart was not.
-
As she broke the surface, he opened his eyes, expecting danger. She touched a series of scars on his left cheek, new ones. His face was blurred by thick scruff, and his eyes were cold and hard, but... Warming... "Vivian," he whispered.
-
She gentle ran her fingers over his scruff. She ached to feel it across her own skin. "Jake," she started. "I. Love. You." She said quietly her eyes full and bright. "And maybe, you'll never love me but I just wanted to let you know." Looks determined.
-
He looked hurt, "Vivian, you deserve much better," he whispered. "You're a beautiful mermaid princess, I'm just a killer." Jake looked away, a feeling aching deep down.
-
Vivian forced him to look at her. "No.. Your a lost man who needs someone to help them escape their own pits of hell." She touched his nose with her own. "Let me help you." She whispered an closed her eyes before lightly pressing her lips against his.
-
He pinched his eyes closed, returning the kiss. "Why?" he whispered.
-
She looked down at him with firey eyes. "Because.. I was told to do so." She said quietly. Chewing on the inside of her lip she thought of the voices that talked to her.
-
He looked at her strangely, wondering why, but then the air around them whipped around, the helicopter coming in to land.
-
She shut her eyes, cringing away in fear suddenly scared once more. She pulled away from him completly and sat up to stare at the flying machine.
-
"It's okay," he assured her, "it'll get us out of here."
-
She glared at it with hatred. "Yeah well, last machine that came near me took away my life." Her hands tightened into fist at her side. Her knuckles turned white.
-
"It works for me," he said, seeing a ramp open and red light spill out. "Please?"
-
Her tail flapped with a loud thump. She turned cold eyes onto him. "I swear, I should just swim home." But she knew it would be to far so instead she held out a hand for him to help her.
-
He picked her up, and carried her inside the cargo bay of the Osprey. "Nobody will know about you, those that do... Are dead."
-
Her body tensed up and she looked around at anything that was everything. Her body was shaking in fear and anger as she watches everything.
