The sky was bright and clear, a true beauty to behold. On could stand on the sandy shores and see miles and miles of ocean stretching outwards, but the didn't see the young girl. Who sat upon a large, black rock that broke the surface of the still waters, she was quite a sight to see. Fierce, curly red hair, her eyes bright and wild with love for the sea. But that is not what made her an extraodinary sight, no it was the tail that extended down from her waiste with its tip skimming the water, bright and golden as the sun reflected in her mirror scales. She smiled at the sky, "Sky, how beautiful! I do feel quite jealous towards those sprites, lucky creatures! They can see everything", she pouted and glared at her mirrored face on the surface of the water, "Pity".
Then a hand grabbed the end of her tail, pulling her towards the murky depths, she shrieked and clung to the rock. But to her luck, she was plunged into the water and found herself looking at a very angry Kaede, she blushed, embaressed to be caught missing lessons, "Hehe...h-hi bro, lovely weather today" -
Diana sat on the shore, the warm sand surprisingly soft underneath her. The wind tousled her blue hair, the white streaks standing out. She kept her feet in the cool water, and was perfectly fine to sit there all day, reading her book, when she heard a shriek and looked up. She saw a mermaid sliding off a rock into the water and shook her head. Then she remembered.
"Oh crap. He's gonna be so angry at me for being late, again." She cursed to her self, standing up and brushing herself off, before taking a running start up a rock and diving into the ocean. Her skin got the bluish tinge it always did when she swam, and this time she was swimming fast. Her pet crab, Harry, clung to her bag, in which was the 2 books she had brought to the surface with her.. -
He scowled at his younger sibling, there were many differences between the two. The most obvious being Kaede's dedication to training and Iracebeth's total disregard, she would fall asleep half way through a lecture while Kaede would have written the teacher's every word, "Lovely? Hmm..I didn't notice, as I was at training, waiting for my little sister to show, I wonder what she was doing?", he spoke with a hint of sarcasm and a mix of humor. A tone he only used for her, Iggy. She smiled sheepishly up at him, "Oh...umm, I was documenting wind patterns...?", she replied, saying it as if she were asking a question.
He shook his head and sighed, "Your a mermaid! Not a sprite, when the hell are you gonna get your head out the clouds?".
She looked up at him and pouted, fluttering her big blues, "But Kaaaaaaay...", she whined, but he wasn't in the mood for it. Not today, she shook his head and pointed back to the city, "Just go, I gotta look for Diana too!".
With her head hung low, Iggy made her way back to the city, she wasn't too sad though, she knew Kaede and one thing about him she always remembered was that he could never hold a grudge. -
Diana slowed down as she reached the city. She fixed up her hair, placed Harry in her bag and swam to her house. She dropped her stuff off there, and, after making sure Harry had food, swam to the training centre. It was empty. "I'm in deeps." She muttured, and looked around, not sure what to do. No one was watching. She glanced up at the surface. Through the water, she saw shapes moving and swam up. As her head broke the surface, she saw a group of sprites flying overhead. She grinned and waved.
-
As Iggy neared the city she caught sight of a familiar pair of legs, "Diana!", she called sticking her head above the surface, she saw the sprites and sighed longingly. How she wished she could be up there, "Diana", she laughed, "You better swim fast, Kaede is looking for you and he is not impressed", Iggy said, using her finger she drew a line along her neck, "You are screwed", as you can see, Iggy's language is a bit beyond that of a ten year old.
"Now where is that Niad", being one of the older trainees, it was Kaede's duty to look after the younger one's, Iggy and Diana fell into that catergory. -
(Last bit didn't post.)
The naiad swam over to a rock protruding from the ocean as the sprites disappeared into the distance. She dangled her feet over the water, toes barely scraping the surface of the clear waves. She closed her eyes and turned her face to the sky, smiling. -
(Okay, ignore it.)
Diana started when Iggy swam up next to her. "I can't be in that much trouble. At least I actually came of my own free will." She teased the mermaid, while glancing down through the water. She slipped silently behind the waves, and swam up behind Kaede. With a quick wink at Iggy, she mustered her energy, and pushed her hands out in front of her. A wave emanated from them, hitting the trainer square in the back. Quickly, Diana transformed her body into water and moved away, before he could blame her. She reformed and swam up to him.
"Hey. Where have you been? I was waiting for ages. she said, innocently. -
(Sorry if I'm slow, making christmas decor)
Kaede felt a wave of water, hitting him against the back and propelling his body foreward, he looked at Diana, signature scowl, his arms crossed, "Funny. The pelican saw you on the shore, Diana. So I apologise for keeping you so long", his voice dripped with sarcasm.
"Awwwwe Kaaay!", Iggy swam up to him, "Aren't we at least allowed a break. His voice softened as he replied, "No" -
Hades frowned. "Really? This is poison? Nice job, girl. You really know how to treat the immortal god of the underworld. Poison doesn't affect me like it does the other gods. More like... Makes me angry." Hades stared at Maracia and Demetria. His eyes looked like green fireballs.
Hades snapped his fingers and the rock table exploded. Demetria ran out of the way of falling debris. She raised the ground and shot it at Hades, but he just snapped his fingers and it exploded. "Really? Is this all the power that the children of the people who defeated me have? Pity. I was looking forward to a good battle. Well, time to destroy you then." -
Diana raised an eyebrow. "And why, may I ask, is that? I'm twelve. All the other naiads and mermaids my age are off doing whatever they please, but I'm stuck doing training, all day, everyday, with no breaks unless I sneak off on my own. And then when I do, I get in fishloads of trouble. You saw how effective my aim and powers are. One day off can't hurt. It's not like Hades is going to rise again anytime soon, if your knowledge is correct." She said, outting her hands on her hips and glaring at Kaede. He was so annoying. All the other trainers were fine with the fact that she snuck off. Not him
-
He chuckled darkly, "Oh wow! Twelve, how mature, two years maturer than my sister but you get into far more trouble than her. How impressive. And really, you shouldn't be so over confident, will that do you any good? No. So I'd avise you to cut it out", he sighed tiredly, "Listen, believe it or not, unlike the other trainers I actually care about you guys and want the best for you".
-
"You? Care about me? When did this happen?" She asked, sarcastically. "Look. The thing is I'm sick of this. All of it. I'm sick of people looking at my and going 'Look, it's the daughter of Lynn Talent'. I'm sick of being shunned by everyone else my age, like I'm some sort of freak. I'm sick everyone expecting me to be able to do things, just because I'm related to one of the Heroes of Legend. You care about me do you? You're one of very few." She sighed, shaking her head, and turned and swam off.
-
He swam behind her, catching up until he was swimming with her. Kaede was never the type to let someone swim off, and never the kind to let an arguement go unresolved, "And you care what they think? Their silly, close-minded group of people. Your some fancy thing for them to gape at, they can't help it. So what of your a bit of a freak?", he shrugged.
-
Diana glared at him. "So I am a freak am I? In case you didn't know, Mr. Caring, it's isn't easy to ignore them. That silly, close-minded group of people happens to be almost everyone I know, and almost everyone I don't know. Sometimes, it feels as if it's everyone, and I just stay home with Harry." She turned and faced him. "You know what they think of me as? Disposable. Do you know what that means, Oh so cariing Kaede? It means that when Hades rises again, they'd be happy for me to die, if it meant their survival. If I lived, sure they'd celebrate, but like me? No. I'm too different." She continued swimming, trying to control her annoyance. Why couldn't he just let her be?
-
He carried on swimming with her. Kaede the persistent as always, "Just ask yourself why you care what they think, their a group of people that "shun" you, they don't really contribute to your life. Why worry? I think you should be focusing on the people who care, I'm sure there must be a few"
