Demetria paused then laughed. "I guess I forgot to change. My dress is in the house along with the pastries." She frowned at her friend's sadness when she mentioned the training. "You have a point. I hate it when people say, 'Look it's the daughter of Oak Mapleae.' It's very irritating." Then Demetria smiled. "Better go get those pastries now."
Demetria walked inside and picked up a plate of Faunaberry tarts. She also quickly changed into her dress. She came back outside. "Snack is served!" She placed the plate on a large, flat rock she sometimes used as a table. She heard a slight rumbling. "That's been happening a lot. Rumers are that Hades is rising again. I doubt it though. Our parents did a number on him." The rumbling got louder. "So I don't worry about it." But Demetria sounded more like she was trying to remind herself instead of telling Maracia. -
IHLAOY Newbie"Oh, so you...eventually found out." Macaria replied, rubbing the back of her head. That was...good. At least Macaria wouldn't need to keep censoring herself like the last time she was. If Demetria knew who her parents were, that made things a lot easier.
At the mention of Hades, and the rumbling ground, Macaria lowered her hands back down to her lap. "Ye...yea, no way HE'S coming back. Necromancers are tough, but even we can't bring someone back to life. Hades is gone for...forever." -
Demetria sighed. "Yeah... I found out. A store owner accidentally told me that I was too much like my father. When I asked if he knew him, he told me my father's name. It matched with the name of a hero." Demetria clutched the hem of her dress. "To bad he's... Gone."
Demetria nodded. "Yep. There is no way. He was put into internal punishment if I remember correctly. Hades won't come back. H-he won't. He can't. Not now. The world just became at peace again. If he attacked now..." She let her voice trail off. It would be chaos is what she wanted to say. But she was too scared to say it. Hades killed more then half of the population when he attacked. -
IHLAOY Newbie"Ah, let's stop talking about Hades. He's got more than enough protection on him to stop anything short of an army coming through. Besides, there are much better things to talk about." Macaria said, reaching into her bag and pulling out a small bottle of black liquid. Her mentor shot her an angry look for using her silk bag as...well, a bag, but Macaria ignored him.
"Like, for example, this bottle of Cham-pain I managed to smuggle out of the Underworld, just for you." -
Demetria clapped her hands in delight. "You remembered that I liked it! I'll get some glasses." She went inside and picked up two glasses. She brought them outside and placed them on the rock. "Don't think I forgot how much you liked faunaberries." She pointed at the plate of tarts. "Those are faunaberry tarts. I tried to get faunaberry tea, but they were out." She smiled. "They're from Cafe Flora. So they are definitely tasty."
-
IHLAOY NewbieMacaria waited patiently as her friend disappeared to get a cup, chuckling slightly to herself when she came back with two. "Silly, Ria, you know I can't drink that stuff, I'm eleven years old. My parents would kill me. I'll gladly take some of those tarts though, I love faunaberries and this is the only time I get to try some."
-
Demetria looked at the cups then laughed. "I didn't even realize... Well, I'll keep two out anyway." Demetria passed the plate of tarts over to Maracia. "Guests first. When I heard that the necromancers were coming today for the semi-annual trading, I hoped that you would come, so yesterday I got these. I knew you liked them." The rumbling started again. Demetria watched as the platter and the glasses shook. Then the rumbling stopped again.
-
IHLAOY NewbieAt the next shake of the earth, Macaria shook her head slowly, biting her bottom lip. Her spirit saw the relatively small action, but any words he could say were snatched out of his mouth as Macaria spoke. "You're an earthie, aren't you? What's the deal here, why's everything been shaking so much? It's wreaking hell on most of the caves down there and people are getting scared. So what's going on?" She asked.
-
Demetria frowned and looked down. "I don't know. Before it was just a little bit of shaking, so we assumed it was an earthquake. But it got worse and worse. Hades was everyone's first guess, but everyone knows that Hades is long gone." Demetria clutched the hem of her dress again, it was a nervous habit. "The rumbling continued. Now, the rumbling is scaring everyone from all four parts of the world. It's not normal but it's probably not Hades."
Demetria was going to continue when she saw a crack form beside the rock table and the crack opened up. A person came out. Demetria froze in shock and fear. "Hello ladies. Did someone call?" The person said. -
IHLAOY NewbieRaising her eye and reaching for another tart, Macaria watched as the man pulled himself from the bowels of the earth. Without missing a beat, Macaria turned and poured herself a drink before turning back to the man. "You know, I really should be surprised, but honestly I find it rather impressive that you both managed to break out of prison AND time your arrival so perfectly. Can I offer you a drink?"
-
Hades froze in shock but quickly recovered. "Seriously. I go through all that trouble and your not even surprised? Kids these days... Nevertheless, I have come to destroy you." Hades turned to Maracia. "And yes, I would love a drink. You should come and work in my palace one day. We could use someone who knows how to welcome guests."
Demetria tried not to burst out laughing. This is the guy that caused so much trouble? Really? He seemed so calm. But as the saying goes, don't judge a book by its cover. -
IHLAOY NewbieMacaria waited patiently as Hades took the drink, and returned to her tart. She really did love faunaberries, and the arrival of Hades was not going to stop her from enjoying them. Besides, she'd taken care of it.
"With all respect, I'd rather not. The reason is rather...two-fold, but it all comes down rather simply to the fact that I'd rather keep my soul intact, you have rather poor work conditions and..." Macaria smiled as Hades took a sip of his drink, "I don't expect you to live long, considering that's not Cham-pain, but rather distilled Lungblossom, a poison with enough power to kill 20 necromancers and around five Dyrads." she finished, matter of factly. -
