"I'll order pizza," Max murmured, dialing the number. "Any preferences?"

I shrugged, "Anything without meat"

He ordered a medium cheese and a medium veggie lover's pizza.

I watched him, trying to imagine the wings again. Damn, it was just too real

"Yeah, thanks. Bye." He hung up. "So..."

"Oh! Sorry", I blushed, realising I must've been staring for too long

He looked away.
"So... About you..." Mrs. Newhouse started. -
"Umm...yes, what would you like to know?"

"Anything," she sat there, eagerly listening.

"Ummm...", I blushed feeling nervous, "Well, I'm not that interesting. My parents are in the medical field, both sides of my family are practical left brain thinkers. But then you have me, the odd child of the Arts"

He excused himself, taking in the rejected dishes and returning with a clean plate for Alice.

"Thanks, ummm...I'm a writer, my parents sent me here so I would do something other than work on a script I'm writing for a movie I plan to make", I blushed and stared at my lap, twiddling with my fingers, "That's about it.."

"Wow. Well, I'm sure you're going to enjoy yourself while you're here." Mrs. Newhouse smiled.

"Oh yes, certainly. My first day here and I already love it", I smiled back, "Your house really is beautiful"

Clearly Mrs. Newhouse liked Alice. She continued saying proud, happy mom-esque things and asking more about her writing. Max was bored.
