"Its a bit of a spiral into darkness, this girl is schizophrenic and it starts of rather beautiful but then it spirals down till the end which is her death"
-
"Schizophrenic, huh?" Max murmured half-heartedly. Mrs. Newhouse didn't notice.
-
I kicked his leg under the table and sent a glare, 'What? Can he read minds now too?'
-
He smirked.
-
I scowled, 'Yes, he's a mind reader'
-
This went on for about ten minutes until the pizza arrived.
-
I was quite grateful I could look at the pizza instead of him, mind reader? I swear, I've gone mad
-
He took two slices.
-
I took one slice, not too hungry. I focused "intently" on eating my pizza
-
Being the hungry teenage male he was, he finished the two slices quickly and went back for two more.
-
Feeling still a bit hungry, I took another slice and finished it rather quickly. "May I be excused?", right now all I wanted was to settle my head. It was my imagination, my mind playing tricks on me
-
Mrs. Newhouse nodded. Max didn't say anything.
-
I took my plate, quickly cleaning it. I ran into my room quickly, closing the door behind, flopping onto my bed I sighed, "Your crazy, Alice"
-
"Does she know yet?" Mrs. Newhouse asked.
Max took their plates and walked into the kitchen, where he began to clean each one before putting it in the dishwasher. "She dragged me down to the beach and sort of... pushed me into the water. She saw when she told me dinner was ready. I was letting them dry."
Mrs. Newhouse sighed. "She thinks she's crazy."
"I know." He stated the fact simply. There was no sympathy, no annoyance that she'd found out, nothing.
"Show her she's not, then."
Maxwell shook his head, closed the dishwasher, and headed for the stairs. She caught his arm as he went.
"Honey, tell her. The poor girl was bound the find out eventually."
He shrugged her off and took the stairs two by two. -
"Alright Alice", I spoke aloud to myself, in cases like these it helped me make sense of things, "Now there are only a few reasons why you might've seen what you saw.
1. A trick of the light
2. Schizophrenia
3. Dream
4. Its real...", I sighed, "Oh listen to yourself, Alice! Winged people don't exist", I scolded myself.
