He fluttered to the ground, landing in the dry, shifty sand. It wasn't safe to keep flying, but the alternative was walking in the cold. He measured the consequences of each, then started the short trek back to the boardwalk.
-
Opening my eyes I caught sight of a figure in the distance which I instantly recognised, the white wings weren't too much of a shock for me anymore. I got up and called to him, "Brilliant weather, eh?"
-
1. Five miles. Miles are longer than kilometers.
2. Greyish black wings.
He ruffled the wings tightly folded against his back, and wrapped his arms around himself. Shirtless and shoeless, he was freezing. -
Sorry! xD
After a while of lying and being soaked, I stood up. The sky above me still continuing to growl at all of us below it, lightning sputtering across the sky. I hope that cat is okay... -
It's fine. :3
Maxwell glanced up at the sky, looking for any possibility in the rain stopping.
Meanwhile, back at the Newhouse home, an unwelcome stranger shattered one of the kitchen windows. -
I was begining to feel cold, my clothes were wet and stuck to my skin. But yet, the rain carried on. I walked quickly, hoping that the quick movement might help with my cold problem.
Truth be told, it really didn't -
"If you stay low, you should be fine," he murmured. He spread his wings, forcing himself forward, and threw himself out into the air. He awkwardly fluttered through the rain, trying to avoid being blown away. He would land and throw himself back into the air every thousand yards or so.
-
My legs were actually growing numb from the cold, "No Alice, you are not collapsing on the side-walk. No way". I gritted my teeth and carried on.
-
Eventually he reached the boardwalk. He put on the damp shoes and grabbed the soaked shirt, knowing that it was too wet to be of any use. He climbed into the boardwalk and headed home.
The intruder finally pulled himself into the house and onto the kitchen counter. -
I clenched my fists, shivering I made my way to the house. A few blocks away I spotted something peculiar, "No, just that imagination", but when I was standing right outside, I knew I was not just dreaming as I stared at the broken window.
Someone has broken in. -
He reached the end of the boardwalk, and spotted her down the street. He quickly hid.
-
What the hell am I supposed to do? I stood there for a few moments, gobsmacked staring at the door like an idiot. Finally I decided, peeking my head through the broken window I called, "Umm...hello?".
dumb---. -
The man turned around and stared at Alice. He was holding a kitchen knife that he'd just grabbed from one of the drawers. He advanced forward, keeping his eyes on her.
Max could hear her from down the street, and sensed something was wrong. He left the boardwalk and raced down the sidewalk, eventually reaching the front door of his house. He grabbed his keys from his pocket and opened the door, running inside. "Don't take another step." -
By the time Max came in, the knife was mere inches from my neck. I stared at them both wide-eyed, silently thanking Max for showing up. The thing about me is that I don't have the whole fight or flight system, I freeze like a deer in the headlights and is completely pathetic. I took a step back.
Fight or flight? -
The man turned his attention to Max, who walked over calmly. "Look, buddy, it's not a good idea to break into a stranger's house. You never know who it could be. An elderly couple, a family with three kids and a massive dog,'" he paused, spreading his wings. His hair was wet and messy from the storm, and his eyes were wild with adrenaline from flying. He grinned, and said, "maybe you'll even be unfortunate enough to break in on Death himself." Lightning crashed outside, illuminating the fact that Max looked like evil incarnate.
