It's a personal opinion, but I think denying the existence of god when we're not sure about it is as wrong as admiting his existence.
-
I've already explained this. By definition, Agnostic is a descriptive term. "A" meaning "without"; and "gnostic" meanining "knowledge". So when you say you're just agnostic, all you're saying is you don't know what you're talking about.
When Agnostic is actually coupled with an actual point of reference like Atheist or theist, it describes that term.
Agnosticism is a easy exit. It's an attempt to make everyone happy. It's not an actual position. -
I get what you say,but I can't for sure tell if god exists or doesn't.There are many reasons to believe there's no god but then again the existence of god is possible too.Though not the god spoken of in christianity or islam.A very different "god".
-
So the question stands, does your indecisiveness compel you to believe a God exists, or are you more compelled to not believe one exists?
-
Eh,I haven't made up my mind yet.I think I can tell you for sure when I die,or when scientist uncover everything about the world.
What does that make me? -
indecisive and impractical
-
i'm pretty sure agnostic is synonymous with 'don't give a f---'
-
No, that's Apatheism.
-
What tongue said ^
Apatheism basically translates to "I don't give a f--- about religion, nor do I care if a deity exists or not. Religion has nothing to do with my life." -
When I:
60% believe there's no god
And
40% think there could be one
Isn't that agnosticism or without knowledge? -
And about being indecesive,I'd rather not make a decision than make a wrong one.
@Emma I see,but I used the percentage to describe it better. But I agree with what you just said and I'd describe my view and belief that way too.The percentage only indicates which I believe more. -
"I don't believe in/worship a god"
that my good friend is atheism.
It doesn't matter if you acknowledge the fact that there might be one, the fact that you do not personally believe in one is atheistic. As I've said before, "lack of belief in a theistic God." That's all the definition is.
That's why I'm saying there is no in-between. You aren't describing a different branch called agnostic. You're describing atheism, with the specification agnostic atheist.
Or as the definition would literally translate to: "Lacking belief without being certain." Hence why I say over and over again, that there is no such thing as agnosticism. -
I got 2 questions Bob,
First, are you an agnostic atheist? -
Yes I am.
-
Out of 100,how much do you believe there could be a god?
I know this whole percentage thing is inaccurate but it works.
