(I never thought I'd say a sentence like that! :p)
But it was his time to go That's how life is; there's life and there's death. (Except, of course, there is eternal life) -
(This is of course my personal opinion)
Bad things happen to everyone. Good people, bad people- they all end up hurt in some way at some point in their lives. We've all been hurt. We all know this.
God didn't not intend for any of that to happen to us. Originally he created a world devoid of all evil, however God allowed people (and angels and demons) to make their own choices (how boring would it be if there was no variation in the world? No inventions, no ideas, just blah). This led Satan ( Lucifer, whatever) to believe that he, with his own choices and power, could control heaven and earth and shape into what he wanted it to be. God understood Satan for what he was but could not condone this choices. And so, slightly conflicted and hurt, God banished Sata. Satan left with his own followers (I like the term demons) and tries to do us harm here on earth while he builds up his power for the next war.
We each face a spiritual battle everyday here on earth. And I feel God put us here to test us- find out what side we're on- who he can trust, who he can't- who can live through hell and still have hope in a better day. No one has the answers to this sometimes incredibly s---ty life we lead. And there's no way I can wrap my head around some of the atrocities happening around the world and in history. All I know is that it isn't God doing these things. Its people and Satan working through those people. -
Whoa. That's the longest post I've ever done :P
