I hate it when authority figures (specifically church leaders because it happens a ton for some reason) treat little kids like they're stupid and like they need to be protected from something.
The kids want to know what's wrong. They deserve to. Don't sugarcoat this.
the next bit has trigger warnings for young people dying so just be aware of that in case you're reading this for some reason
"Oh, a neighbor just has some medical problems" is not an appropriate answer. A 17 year old boy has cancer and is dying. That's not "some medical problems" and they know it.
Kids aren't stupid. They know when something's wrong, and they want to know why. Don't sugarcoat it. Hiding this from them serves no purpose. Most of them have experiences with a loved one dying (especially the kids who you're trying to hide this from.) or are too young to remember this (like, younger than 4)
Idk if I want anyone responding to this. Just needed to vent because this is really pissing me off and causing way more mental distress than I thought at first :) -

Like hey kid, you're a total freak, you inherited your eating disorders and body issues from your moms side of the family, you inherited your dysfunctional, indesisive, religious trauma, panic attacks, and ADHD-style brain from your dads side, we don't think your favorite cousin will live much longer so say hi to her when you see her next time and that's not even the worst of it lolz -
And I hate how my friend group has sides to it-
And everyone has a special little role to play (because we're all theater kids who need a label in order to contribute to society :D)
Like, my role is the optimistic friend (also known as the therapist to the therapist) who just sits there and has to try to get everyone happy even though they're not even happy and is doing just as s---ty as everyone who's venting :') -
Hey mom. Under no circumstances should you EVER say the f slur, d*ke, b*tch (unless you're using it as the abbreviation for butcher) or any other sort of derogatory slur under A N Y CIRCUMSTANCES. Idgaf if it "wasn't targeted at anyone". I'm so glad dad heard you say it this time

On a happier note here's this story that happened at lunch
Janitor: Why is your table so messy?
Eli: Kids were throwing food at us.
Janitor: They said you were throwing food at them...
Me: We didn't. The lunch ladies saw, they might be able to tell you
Janitor: They didn't stop it?
Eli: They're too busy trying to make sure no one gets into a real fight.
Janitor: Okay, next time that happens, come get me. I can throw food at them without getting in trouble *evil grin* -
Ok but lowkey imagine trying to start a food fight at lunch like that's so cringe man
They didn't even throw food that would actually do damage, just oranges with the peels still on lmao (because and I quote "We're fruity" lol) -
Fun fact last year at Comicon I was VERY closeted to my friends (even tho my friends are all genderqueer lmao) and I remember I almost got a pronouns pin there last year to come out to them before deciding against it because we were all very overstimulated and tired and I didn't want to go "BY THE WAY LOSERS-"

I love it when my parents talk about me as if I'm not literally in the other room-
They didn't say anything bad about me, apparently my grandpa is just being really s---ty about my name change to the point where it's pissing my dad off lol (the grandpa's on my moms side) so that's fun -

Church sucked
I mean, I knew it'd be way way worse today than any other time, but still -
I just feel sick today
Like, physically sick (like I've been stabbed in the stomach), mentally sick, and just sick in general -
And I can't vent to people about this bc it's not about me and thinking otherwise is a really sick twisted way of viewing this situation, and the only people who know what's happening are also going through it (probably worse than me tbh)
Like, feelings are valid, but these ones aren't reasonable -

Uhm in other news I might have managed to convince my parents to have me go to church less lol. Still stuck at seminary tho
