Preston's voice was like music to Trenton's ears. "A neighbor found you lying unconscious..."
-
"Why the hell would they care?" his voice was quieter than before, but it held less emotion. It was a blank question, though it came out more like a statement. He then looked back up at Trenton, he said he could call him that, and blinked a few times. The pain was evident in his eyes and facial expression.
-
Trenton sighed sadly. "Because, you belong here. You were meant to be here."
-
"N-n-no... You... You don't... I don't deserve... They..." the boy started to break down. The tears streamed down his porcelain cheeks, a raging waterfall of salty sorrows. Sobs shook his body, causing his hands to tremble. "K-ki-" his sobs picked up, causing his throat to betray him by closing up, only letting out a strangled squeak. His lips were jello, not allowing a single word to be formed. All he could do was sit the and wallow in his sadness, allowing the pain and hurt to seep through the cracks and pierce its way to the surface.
-
Trenton was close to tears too. He hated seeing the young man so sad, so broken. He stepped over to Preston, not sure what to do to comfort him. He wanted to caress his cheek, comb the chestnut haired boy's hair.
-
I just want to die... Let me die. Kill me already. He shut his eyes tightly, trying to stop the tears. He took in shaky breaths but to no avail; the tears just kept on coming.
-
Trenton couldn't take it anymore... "Preston.. It's going to be okay.." he started to comb the boy's hair gently, hoping the boy didn't mind.
-
His sobs became to waver, losing their strength. Soon he was sniffling, catching his breath. Trenton's touch was calming and comforting. It felt so right that it seemed wrong, but he wasn't about to do anything about it. The boy looked up at his therapist through milky chocolate eyes, a few tears escaping his eyes every so often. They fleed down his cheeks and made a leap for the sheets, leaving dark splotches where they landed.
-
Trenton looked into the boy's beautiful brown eyes, his heart melting.
-
"I'm sorry... I'm sorry..." he whispered, lost in Trenton's eyes. I'm sorry you have to put up with me. If I were you, I'd pick up and leave right now without a second glance. Preston couldn't help but think this as he continued to gaze into that dazzling sea of blue.
-
"You have nothing to be sorry about." Trenton got lost in the chocolate colored eyes.
-
"But I do... I really do."
-
"No..."
-
"My... My p-parents... They... It..." For some reason he couldn't get his brain to function correctly. The words were jumbled and mixed up; choppy and out of order.
