"Yeah. Hi Ms... uh..." he trailed off, unsure of what her last name was. -
"Princeton.I don't use Ashley's last name."she said, shaking his hand.

"Hello Ms. Princeton," Eric said, returning the handshake.

"So,"My mother said,"How long have you two known each other." I took Eric's hand and said,"A few years." Lying to my mother wasn't the worst thing I could do to her and I knew if she knew the truth she would freak.

Eric was a little surprised at first, but caught on soon enough for Ms. Princeton to notice. "Yeah. We've known each other for a little while."

"Well that explains it."she winked at me."I'll leave you two alone now." She walked upstairs.

"Your mom seems nice," Eric said, smiling a little.

"Yeah...she is." I said."I still don't know how I can thank you for this."

He smiled more. "Will it sound bad if I say I don't care if you do?"

I gave him a short kiss and said,"No not really."

"It's really late."I said looking at the clock."I should get some sleep and you should too."

He nodded. He didn't sleep much, but still...
