I placed a desk in front of the door to buy us some time. -
(Hmm... if to Eric's planet, then it'll be the experiment and... to Ashley's mom! :D)

Eric climbed out the window, flapping his wings lightly. He held out his arms. "Ready?"

"As I'll ever be." I climbed out the window into his arms.

I held onto him tightly, hoping that he would not drop me. To keep my mind off of how high we were, I thought about places that we could go.

A few minutes later, Eric stopped, landing on a building. He set down Ashley. "Thought of anywhere yet?"

"My mom has a house in San Francisco, and we're in Oakland. These cities are right next to each other so it's not that far." I said.

"Okay. That'd work. You wanna go now or..." What was Ashley's mom like? From the phone call, she seemed pretty nice...
