He looked as though he was going to refuse, but he only nodded softly. "Okay.."
He walked to his father's side, and at once the smile reappeared. -
He watched to see the exchange. The pit in his stomach reminded him that a similar reaction will probably come from his own father, sooner or later.

"Hi Mom.." he whispered. "How are.. are you doing?"
Michael stepped away from the bed, and signaled at Alex to come. -
He nodded and walked over the other two standing. He smiled meekly at the woman.

She smiled a little at Nick. "Good.." she whispered, her voice weak. The she looked over at Alex, her face turning serious. She almost studied him before chirping softly, "Hello.."

"Hi, I'm Alex. I'm glad to hear you're getting better. We were worried about you." He said softly,

"Pleased to meet you. Thank you for concern.." she stayed quiet for a while, and she said, "Thank you for taking care of my baby."
A wave of relief washed over Michael and Nick. -
"Never a problem. I really do care about him, and his family. I never want to hurt him." He told her in sincerity.

He smiled back, putting an arm around Nick again.

Michael smiled at all three at them, not wanting to have that moment end. But he said, " Hey, Alex, can you go outside with me? I need to discuss something with you."

He nodded, leaving his boyfriend's side to go out into the hallway.

Michael smiled a little one they were in the hallway to tell him it was okay. "Do your parents know about you two? Will they be alright about it?"
Nick waited besides his mother. "How's school?" she asked softly, and he only said that it was okay. -
"I haven't told them yet, and... I know my mom most likely will be but... I'm not sure about my dad." He admitted.
